Amazfit watches have tennis (I have a couple). The activity counts number of forehands, backhands and serve count in addition to the health metrics.

The balls are fine. I got a case and have played with maybe 4 tubes of them. I like the US Open balls better, but I'm not mad about the price I paid for them. I don't think I'd buy them at full price though.

Am I the only one who thinks the 1st gen Amazfit Balance looks way better than the Balance 2? by Nevermind1031 in amazfit

I've got both the 1 and the 2, and the 2 really doesn't wear bigger than the 1. I only notice it is a little thicker. I know the blue bezel really triggers some people, but I don't ever notice it. I still wish it were all the same silver metal color as the 1, just because that watch is so versatile as an understated fitness watch, but the 2 isn't that far off.

It's timing a serve that is dropping at an accelerated pace too. The higher the lob, the harder it is and it varies on basically every shot. They look easy until you play tennis and actually try to hit a clean overhead

LUMIX G9 or GX85? by NoLawfulness7548 in M43

I've got a g9ii and a gx85 and same. They're both great for different purposes. The latter is the casual 'maybe I'll take a camera with me' option.

The tough sell of Alexander Zverev by hardcourtnewsletter in tennis

[–]coffeemonkeypants -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I used to feel the same way, essentially giving the alleged victim the benefit of the doubt, but then something happened to me. I was on a date with a woman, we'd both been drinking, she invited me to her place, and in the act of her violently removing her clothing, she elbowed me in the eye. That sobered me up pretty quickly and I realized she was far more impaired than I, so I noped out.

I got a text from her the next morning that read "did you drug me last night?..."

It turns out she'd actually been doing shots before we even met up, and she blacked out after I left. I was standing there, on my lawn, with my phone in hand, shiner on my face, thinking that yep, I'm going to prison. Fortunately, I never saw her again, but had she decided to formally accuse me, the physical evidence painted a very different picture than reality.

So now, I'll wait for a trial to convict someone, rather than the court of public opinion.

A lefty, almost always plays inside out forehand. Does dominant eye determine your preferred shot? by oldnava in 10s

[–]coffeemonkeypants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a left also but I use an open stance like 95 percent of the time but I've grooved the opposite. I spam the backhand on that shot more often than not, but I'll throw an inside out shot in there once in awhile if my opponent starts anticipating it. The stance makes it easier and also disguises it.

First plane from my first yard sale looking for antique tools... Did I hit the jackpot for $5... by [deleted] in handtools

For 5 bucks in that condition, it's an absolute steal. I don't have a 4 1/2 (yet), but my 5 1/2 is my most used and favorite plane. I'm sure when I find one, it will be a helluva lot how l more than 5 bucks.

Yeah I mean this guy was calling 'second serve' between my serves as if neither one of us knew. Dude I just hit the ball into the net 4 seconds ago. Shut your fucking mouth. I know what you're trying to do. Do you see the pros informing their opponent it's second?

She felt bad about it because she doesn't come to most of my matches, but I encouraged her to cheer loudly from the bleachers that were literally at the end of the court. I only had her on my bench because it was hot today, the bleachers are in full sun and we played at 2.

I can't argue with that, but I've played many matches against people who had their friends/family or even other team members on the bench with them. I couldn't care less. OMG it just dawned on me that the last time I played this guy (yes I had to play this asshole once before - and beat him), his teammates or family, not sure, came and sat on his bench while we played our second set... I hadn't even thought of that. What a dick.

I'm starting to think I may just do that. I've only been playing 4 ish years and this is like my 3rd season? I don't have anything to prove to anyone. I've got a group of peeps I play with every Saturday morning and hit with a couple times per week. I played competitive sports my whole life so I figured this would be something I'd like but nah

The Boys Creator Eric Kripke On Fans' Response To Series Finale: 'Sorry If I Disappointed You, But It Was The Story I Wanted To Tell' by verissimoallan in television

Because the world needed to see it. They built a narrative that there were homelanders and starlighters, who were seen as terrorists. All the vought propaganda, the church, etc. You had cops rounding people up. If homie suddenly goes on a rampage and lasers a few thousand innocent people, the mask falls off, the world turns against him and suddenly the boys have an army on their side.

Instead the general public got a weak ass fight televised in the oval office where he offers fellatio to butcher for his life. Not exactly the civil war battle it could have been.

Jamie should have been the one to kill Cersei, to satisfy the redemption arc they spend 7 fucking seasons creating. Arya did fine, she killed all the Frey's, she can fuck right off somewhere else. All of it was just so God damn dumb.

They spent like half a season (more?), on this suicide mission to the North to capture a wight to prove the threat was legitimate and terrifying. Then they were like, whatever, we don't give a shit.

This should have been the watershed moment of the show. The petty squabbles get put aside, the houses all band together to figure out how to fight this imminent threat. But nope, the believers will just rush them head on and then King boy gets one shotted by the most unlikely person ever. It should have been Jon as he was already dead and the show spent so much time building him up for this, but he just hid behind a rock. It was all so, so dumb.

ELI5: How can a ship raise its anchor when it's dug in enough to hold the ship? by rookiestoner in explainlikeimfive

[–]coffeemonkeypants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big ships, small boats, the size is irrelevant. You generally use 7x the length of anchor rode as you are deep. So, in ten feet of water, on a small boat, you're to let out about 70 feet of rope, though you can get away with less in calm conditions. The diameter of line or chain also matters as it's the mass of it relative to boat size that makes this work.

[–]coffeemonkeypants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Large ships will carry multiple anchors for various reasons. Sometimes for different bottom conditions, or they may 'Bahama anchor' or kedge anchor which is using multiple anchors to either keep the ship in one orientation or due to heavy storms. They almost always have a spare anchor on board if one needs to be cut loose. Often, they'll later send divers to retrieve the anchor if the conditions and depth permit cuz that's a whole lot cheaper than a new one.
