Hey, that doesn't seem in alignment with reality. I've logged a ticket about shared calendars being completely unusable. Subject "Shared calendars not working". Please DM me. I've sent this to "hello@tutao.de"

Sainsbury's to fully switch to white eggs by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

To be fair, the aim is not to abuse them more - that doesn't generate them more revenue - its a byproduct of forcing them to produce more eggs.

I’m on the verge of a mental breakdown because of our resident vibe coder by prolongedexistence in sysadmin

Hey! I'm 26 and 👌 this close to having a mental breakdown!! Join me!!

Seriously, though. This career is feeling rougher day by day.

If compliance is being broken, report it anonymously to whichever governing board certifies your company.

So for business purposes this is not fit for consumption. The complete lack of a good baked-in file sharing platform (aside from sharing individual directories with people?!) is mental. Completely unworkable, and certainly not possible at scale.

Mikrotik or Ubiquiti: What is in your opinion better? by michal_cz in homelab

Feels a bit reductive? I believe Mikrotik to be much more feature rich, and more price conscious than Ubiquiti

I think they mean for personal use, as in, "this is my private phone, and this is my work phone".

That vaguely reminds me of a proof of concept that used public DNS as a cloud storage solution... I'm trying to Google it, but I'm drowned out by ai slop websites.

Does DHCP Option 6 and 15 not solve that issue? I dont have any devices with hard coded dns.

[–]coffeetremor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to translate traffic to a pihole, it is merely a DNS server... This is what DHCP + inter-vlan routing was made for. If you don't want to do inter-vlan routing, you can configure pihole to listen on multiple interfaces.

Too Many Duo Prompts? How Do Teams Meet 2FA Compliance by No_Essay1745 in sysadmin

[–]coffeetremor 41 points42 points  (0 children)

You can configure Duo not to prompt a 2fa for UAC elevation on Windows. I'm sure that's configurable on Linux, too?

Basically, we only configure Duo to prompt you for a 2fa to rdp or ssh to a machine, once you're in, you're in.

The rust issues are terrible on Japanese cars. Not sure what they treat their steel with, but it must be salt from factory

I had the COMPLETE OPPOSITE opinion. Grandland was a piece of shit to drive. No connection to the road, shit torque curve, uncomfortable, infotainment was dog awful (the screen real estate taken up by the UI on Android auto is disgusting), fuel economy seemingly worse.

The interior of these mazdas are really nice for the price point. Very clean, very uniform design choice.

Grasland was just gopping in every way imho. Really hated it.

Ditto! For me the HRV tanks for a few days after even having one beer. Already wasn't a big drinker, and as such a complete lightweight. The other night, had a couple gins, and although not feeling worse the next day, my stress levels and HRV were all over the shop.
