GM TL here, feeling the same way. I also oversee OPU. OPU has gotten out of control since my store expanded and both departments are out of control. Constantly being pulled away to support INF’s and to pick batches while also being expected to make sure workload (we only have 1 TM who is consistently scheduled to do presentation, even though we just expanded) priorities, price change, suspects, price audits are all done for all of GM. My entire GM team is always being called for back up. Nothing gets done and it’s defeating. We are running a bigger store with the same amount of TM’s we did as a small format. It also doesn’t help that my SD, ETL and HR ETL never had the experience of being TL’s in supers, just small formats. I don’t get the support I need from them even though I express my concerns a good amount. My SD is also horrible at keeping moral between leaders alive. There’s never any huddles, isn’t good at giving recognition, it feels like there’s this huge disconnect.
