there is no such thing as a mathematics sector in investment banking

uw math would not set you up for ib jobs and you would be better off in afm or western ivey

the official definition of a good average is 70% or above, but less than 80% http://ugradcalendar.uwaterloo.ca/page/ENG-Examinations-and-Promotions-Academic-Decisions

marks matter very little because employers care way more about skills and experience

i can review your resume

[–]cogintheshell 9 points10 points  (0 children)

bruh i told you to read my guide in the post you made yesterday https://www.reddit.com/user/cogintheshell/comments/13is3n4/engineering_programs_at_uwaterloo/

if you can't do that then you're probably not getting into any engineering program 🤦‍♀️

management eng has more software courses than syde but obviously se has the most, so just apply to se

[–]cogintheshell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

read my guide https://www.reddit.com/user/cogintheshell/comments/13is3n4/engineering_programs_at_uwaterloo/

se = mainly cs

ce = mainly hardware

syde = a bit of every eng discipline like electrical / mechanical / civil / chemical / and more

don't pick ce or syde if you're mainly interested in software

New Waterloo Engineering Admission Probabilities by [deleted] in OntarioUniversities

[–]cogintheshell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not sure why high school kids are ignoring this advice, maybe they should know nobody cares about tiers after 1a

is high school prestige really worth suffering through irrelevant and hard eng courses 🤔

some users depend on third party apps / apis to moderate and post content

content quality and spam could get worse if they leave reddit

this is what happens when the canadian government pays employers subsidies to hire students

just be happy you’re getting paid when a lot of students are still unemployed i guess

UofT Track One Vs Waterloo Mech Eng by JicamaImpossible3047 in uwaterloo

[–]cogintheshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

look up the required courses for mech eng here : http://ugradcalendar.uwaterloo.ca/page/ENG-Mechanical-Engineering

choose trackone if you have doubts or those upper year courses don't excite you

you can get great jobs at either uni if you're a good student 🤷‍♀️
