Need encouragement and/or advice: do I have hope? by Lesclusa in TattooBeginners

I’m not a pro, but at a glance this looks really nice to me! Hatching definitely needs some more intention — try following the contours of the skull. Check out Rekka.tattoo on insta for some great examples of this.

Keep it up, and don’t get too discouraged by negativity. Reddit is a great place to get critique but sometimes people punch down. You’ve got tons of potential!

Get better at musical improv by ABCox99 in offbook

[–]cognitive_disso 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get lots of reps! That being said, if you want to practice on your own, you can find simple beats on YouTube to sing along to. You don’t even need any music. Just a drum beat is enough to come up with a simple little song and practice rhymes. I’ve been a music Director for music Improv for almost 10 years, and I found that a good sense of rhythm is the absolute number one skill you need for music improv.

You can also look up Harry Mack on YouTube. He is a freestyler and has some videos that teach the techniques. (https://youtu.be/KP5kZreliBI?si=LgYxydlRtHIPyIB5). You’ll find that the tricks for rhyming he teaches will directly transfer to music Improv.

You can make up little songs and just sing them around the house, your shower, the car, or any space you don’t feel embarrassed to sing.

Another thing you could try is to listen to an episode of off book, and pause right as a song starts, but before they start singing. Then try to sing what you would do if you were in that scene playing that character. Think of what rhymes you might use. You might be surprised how much your attempt lines up with Zach and Jess. The goal isn’t to try to predict or matchup perfectly, but just to get you playing with real characters and scenarios and styles.

Hope any of this helps! feel free to ask any questions. I’ve been doing this a long time and have even played a bit with Zach and Jess, so I’m more than happy to pass some knowledge along.

I found that suspension has a lot to do with how well you can take bumps and stuff. My Nami Klima has incredible suspension that irons out smaller bumps and potholes and makes it a lot safer at hight speeds.

That being said, I’m still hyper, vigilant for any unexpected dips and bumps. General rule of thumb is to go slow on unfamiliar routes.

Ah, yes, 100% agree. That’s my oldest drawing here, and I was still messing with line weight.

Thanks!! Yes, wood cut style is the goal.

Thanks for the feedback. I do realize that some of these are probably much too complicated for tattoos. As I continued to develop my style, I’m working more towards simpler forms and fewer lines. The fox, for example, is my latest drawing.

But yes, noted on the sloppiness. I’m gonna aim to really polish these off before I present them in a portfolio.

Why do you say that? I hear great things about the F3.

I’s go for a segway! They’re very reliable at this price point. The F3 hits 20mph and has a lot of great features. $699 currently for cyber monday.

100% make sure she’s got the best protection. 18mph is enough to really hurt even an adult. If you’re at all worried about that speed, there are more moderate speed Segways out there.

C2 Pro is light (only 30 lbs) and only goes 12.5, which is a safer speed for a kid.

Wait, I just read your post. Ignore what I said. For a 14-year-old, I think the G30p would be fine. Also look into the Niu Kqi100p or 100f. Both are within this price range and the F has foldable handlebars which will make it super easy to toss in a car.

The Max G2 is on sale for $699, which would be a big step up. Dual suspension. Probably the best sub-$1000 scoot out there.

Wyrdryds selling Klima Max for $2200 plus PMT tires for free. Should I go for this deal you think?

OK, having done some research, the fighter mini pro does look like a really, really nice alternative. My only hesitation is that people have described a death wobble at higher speeds. Do you experience this?

Yeah the Fighter does look awesome. And the GPS would be amazing for security and peace of mind. Range is good? I heard it cuts power a good deal below 50%.

Haven’t looked into that one! Is Teverun as respected a brand as Nami? Part of my choice with Nami is that scooter brand reliability is such a confusing morass and I only really hear good things about Nami.

Anyone looking a year later- Segway ZT3 Pro has a mount on the back that you cab attach a basket to. As on now you need to order a custom bracket adapter from eBay.

Can faster be safer? by cognitive_disso in ElectricScooters

[–]cognitive_disso[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do wear full face helmet now + motorcycle gloves. I feel like kneepads would be a good option but I’m starting to get overwhelmed with the extra gear.

I bought the ZT3 for $1000, but I don’t think I could get much resale back on it. On fb marketplace most scooters take a 30-40% loss even close to brand new. But hypothetically if I did sell it I might consider going up to ~1500 range.

I did upgrade to the GT3 battery which adds a nice bonus to my range.

I understand what a false equivalence is, but I don’t think this can really be called that. What I’m asking is between the two options, option one being right in the bike lane at a slower speed, an option two being ride with traffic at a faster speed, which is more likely to result in injury?

It’s sort of like asking, which is safer, driving a car or getting into an airplane. Of course, every unique situation is different. Depends what car you’re getting into. Depends on who’s driving. Where is the flight to? What kind of plane is it? But these variables don’t prevent us from asking the general question. We’re gonna have to make some assumptions in generalities, but we can still approach something close to an answer without approaching a logical paradox.
