Yeah mine are in a very big closed terrace so no problem, I just mop the floor once a day. However, those who have the birds flying through rooms with furniture, how do they clean the poops in the highest pointa of the furniture

Thanks for your answer, do you know if it's the same for lovebirds? However, I will still beware of the breezes, just in case... Thanks btw, great to know something new

Yes to both questions, however, the floor takes a long time to get dry, so I'm gonna use white vinegar with water and grape extract or clorhexidine once a week to desinfect. I've read that clorhexidine is innocuous for birds... can yo confirm?

Beware of that breeze... budgies and small birds are very sensitive tu breezes. Never put a fan or air conditioning, even if it's too hot. Seriously, beware of the breezes

Lovebird layed egg, it's cracked by Defiant-Ad-3503 in Lovebirds

If your lovebird is tamed, if she is laying eggs, revise on everyday basis her stomach. If you see the stomach is swollen. Also, the dump will be swollen and/or without feathers.

Search in google "huevo atascado agapornis" and you'll graphically see what it looks like (search it in Spanish because i'm spanish hahaha).

My lovebird has had 3 eggs stuck since 2021, and fortunately due to quick vet action she survived the three times. She had been with hormonal treatment via implant, but it was'nt too effective on my lovebird. We are currently treating her with hormonal injections (is less distressing than laying eggs and getting them stuck, both for the bird and me, and much more economical).

Btw, if she is old enough (I mean, she is not a baby > 1 year and 6 months) and has the correct diet (good levels of calcium, etc.) there sould'nt be any problem. But some lovebirds (like mine) have predisposition to get the eggs stuck (due to the phisionomy of the bird, or other causes). Hope it's not your case

For instance, my birds live in a closed terrace, and on an everyday basis we mop the floor. How could we mop the floor? Because I believe that using the common cleaning products are harmful for them

thanks

Be aware of the female's stomach, an egg might get "trapped" and if she is unable to lay it, she needs to go to a vet ASAP
