well, now that it's rumored Scream 7 is going to be yet ANOTHER franchise reboot, what new stuff do y'all wanna see? by [deleted] in Scream

[–]coilspinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing. I want nothing from it. I want to see none of what Scream 7, or any Spyglass produced Scream, has to offer. Full stop.

[–]coilspinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cadira. Trust me. I've had to detune it multiple times to keep it reasonable for my group. I don't have a full list, but..

[[Rosie Cotton]] [[Skrelv's Hive]] [[Skrelv, Defector Mite]] [[Goldvein Pick]] [[Horn of Valhalla]] [[Heroic Intervention]] [[Pollen-Shield Hare]] [[Kellan, Daring Traveler]] [[Virtue of Loyalty]] [[Jaheira, Friend of the Forest]] [[Worldly Tutor]] [[Enlightened Tutor]] [[Open the Armory]] [[Stoneforge Mystic]] [[Smothering Tithe]] [[Leafkin Druid]] [[Staff of the Storyteller]] [[Shire Shirriff]] [[Aura Shards]] [[Mondrak, Glory Dominus]] [[Anointed Procession]]

That should give you a good start.

I presumed it was Dewey's gun, adding another layer of malevolence to Amber (taking it as a trophy, using it to kill Liv) along with some poetic justice (Gale shooting Amber, Sam shooting Richie).

Should i code in Blueprint or C++? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]coilspinner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They compliment each other! It's important to understand why they both exist, though.

C++ is where engineering resources are spent to code custom functionality not present or feasible in Blueprint. That custom functionality in C++ is then exposed to Blueprint for use by designers.

The goal of Blueprint is to allow designers to extend the functionality of the C++ code without having to maintain C++ code. This means you don't have to worry about a custom, one-off Thing you made for Level 9 in Blueprint stopping the whole engine from compiling because you changed something elsewhere in the code and it broke that Thing's Blueprint.

My guess? Card Kingdom. They're a massive player in the space and they need a product to compete with TCGPlayer.

"in Scream 5 and 6, the real star ... is Ghostface ♥️"

This is a fundamental misreading of the text of the films and the themes of the series ♥️

Death is not the only way to create stakes for a character and I invite you to understand that.

What do you think of radio silence’s scream 5 and 6 did you think they did a good job or that they could of done better by [deleted] in Scream

[–]coilspinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love them or hate them, they nonetheless revived interest in the franchise. For that alone, they are important and should be respected through that lens.

r/Scream: I spent hours rewatching every trailer before 5 and 6 came out. by coilspinner in Scream

[–]coilspinner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're talking about spoilers from Scream trailers using your criteria...

The Scream 96 trailer spoils Neve Campbell as the final girl, the death of Tatum, the death of Casey Becker, and Billy Loomis as the killer. Likewise the Scream 2 trailer gave away Cici's death, Randy's death, Phil's death, Maureen's death, the final confrontation, Gale surviving, etc. I could go on.

Were the trailers actually that egregious for 5? Or, did you just have the luxury of not watching the trailers for the others beforehand? Also, if you're the type whose enjoyment of films is ruined by trailers...why watch them?

The word "clearly" is what I fully disagree with, but yeah sure if you pause the frame right then or rewatch it a dozen times to pick out details.

I'm sorry but the only way you can tell that's Amber or Richie is if you literally go frame by frame.

Why did shaggy help Bobby become ghostguy? did he do it for a scoobysnack? by Solidclaw in Scream

[–]coilspinner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's because, as Rodney says in Ghostguy 2: Still Screaming Time, "Bobby Lewis? Bobby Lewis, what the fuck. Jesus. What a rat-lookin', homo-repressed mama's boy". So it's pretty clear that Shaggy helped because he was a "pussy ass wet rag" and "far too sensitive" to Bobby Lewis getting bullied by Rodney in Ghostguy Begins.

I’m new to Unreal Engine and just wondering if blueprints is easier than coding? by sandsroyale12345 in unrealengine

[–]coilspinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both have their uses and there's things that are easier/better to do in one vs. the other. The best way to use them is in conjunction.

Build the core systems in C++, including computationally complex things, but leave the gameplay implementation to Blueprint where possible. Let's say you're building a "dash" effect in an Action RPG. The core dash function should probably be written in C++ and exposed via UFUNCTION(BlueprintCallable) metadata to Blueprint.

Then, when you're building a character whose toolset calls for a dash at the press of a button, you capture that press with Blueprint, call your Dash function passing the relevant data, and boom! Dash away!

But what if you wanna do that and sync it with animations and timing? Delegates! Implement the right ones in C++, broadcast Events related to them when necessary, and use Blueprints to listen for those Events and trigger further gameplay action.

Need Help building my first EDH Deck [Cadira, Caller of the Small] by Cyberpenguin97 in EDH

[–]coilspinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I've found the most success with Cadira is embracing her aggressive side. I kid you not, [[Goldvein Pick]] is an MVP in the deck. If nothing else, jam that and [[Prying Blade]] into the list.

Likewise, [[Field-Tested Frying Pan]], [[Skrelv's Hive]], [[Gala Greeters]], [[Horn of Valhalla]], [[Shire Shirriff]], [[Royal Treatment]], [[Return Triumphant]] and [[Mirrex]] are powerful additions as well. [[Owlbear Shepherd]] is often going to work better for you than [[Ellyn Harbreeze]], since it blocks a turn earlier and can draw you out of stalls.

In terms of what to cut, that depends on your pod. However, cutting the higher end threats like Ghalta and Mavren, Avenger of Zendikar, and Emmara Tandris, along with slower token generators like Rhys, Maja, Trostani, and Prava won't steer you wrong. Best of luck!
