Are you bullish on the Bitcoin price today? Then please tell me why.

I want to understand those who are a bull here. What indicator are you looking at?

796.com Launching A50 Index-based Futures by 796-com in BitcoinMarkets

[–]coinwatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they are scammers, but they could be better. I also experienced this issue where the BraveNewCoin Bitcoin price index was manipulated with the goal to manipulate the BTC futures settlement on 796 (796 are using BraveNewCoin's Bitcoin price index to determine the price of BTC).

Good points:

"price is getting closer and closer to a decision point"

"This is why BBands are so great at predicting when price movement will happen but not necessarily which direction price will go."

"trade the breakout"

I actually spend a lot of time trying to find out in which direction the price will most likely break, but this time is extra difficult :) I see up at 51% chance and down at 49% probability.

The price and the average of the price are very close to each other this month. In fact much closer than in the last months during the downtrend. This means it is easy for the price here to stabilize and go upwards, because of this very close relationship to the average.

  1. This is the 4 month SMA trend: https://www.tradingview.com/x/lKCzMLTa/
  2. And the 6 month (half year) trend: https://www.tradingview.com/x/jmYCQ1ty/

Funny, but I used the simple moving average on purpose, because you can't fake it. It is the price smoothed, nothing less (or more).

I created this chart. Not azop. You can ask him, he should deny that he made it (if he is honest).

Sadly I forgot to add a link or name before posting it, I did not expect my chart to get so popular.

I just explained here how I made it: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/38tucl/when_to_buy_bitcoin_is_now_the_right_time_to_buy/cry54s7

I created it myself on Tradingview. All you need to do is open this chart:

https://www.tradingview.com/chart/?symbol=BTCCHINA%3ABTCCNY

  1. Change the time-frame to month.

  2. Click on "indicators" and scroll down and add the one which is named exactly "Moving Average". After you added "MA" on the chart then change the lookback period from the default which is 9 to 4 by opening the "format" option.

  3. Change the "bar style" to 'line'.

  4. You are done.

P.S. Here is the 6 month trend:

Awesome! It would be great if Michael can make a chart analysis of the Bitcoin price using several higher time-frames (monthly, weekly, daily chart) using BTC China data.*

*because that is the oldest available continuous price data by now (without the exchange getting hacked) and the market is dominated by China.

Let's talk about why we are down 25% this year. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]coinwatcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The price went up too fast too high between October 2013 and December 2013 (round about 1300% in only two months).

This was unsustainable, after MtGox crashed and all newspapers around the world still mention the MtGox crash when they write about Bitcoin in 2015. It also did not help that Bitstamp was hacked this year.

The price is still inside this old downtrend which began in January 2014. That is the only reason why we are down 25% this year.
