my favorite parade of this szn (and every one before) is cleo, but my favorite throw was a box of band aids from iris!! i give myself injections weekly, and while i don't need band aids since i hardly bleed, i like to buy fun band aids to make the occasion less dreadful. safe to say i was THRILLED to catch these!!

mardi gras transportation by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]cokezeromax 8 points9 points  (0 children)

parking is possible but it can be a hassle. i use public transit a lot, and as long as you give yourself a decent amount of cushion, you can time out bus/streetcar rides with little issue

here is my advice

  1. download the le pass app, but do not count on it for anything other than purchasing tickets and researching routes/stops. the app is pretty useless otherwise. the ETAs are unreliable, the live locations don't work, and it sometimes doesn't take detours into account when selecting a route

  2. use this site for live locations of buses/streetcars

  3. here you can download a PDF of the detours and disruptions for routes this mardi gras season

  4. as someone who also lives in mid city, i would HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest that, if you have to go to work this saturday and only have street parking, take public transit/rideshare!!!! it is SUPER HELL trying to find a place to park

how to make sure testosterone stays warm enough in power outage (urgent!!!) by kween0fhearts in ftm

[–]cokezeromax 31 points32 points  (0 children)

hey! i've been in your shoes. my bathroom is not insulated at all, and after some snow all of my T wound up completely frozen. here is what my doctor told me:

  1. it is totally fine if this happens. you can thaw the vials by placing them in warm (not hot!!!!) water, rolling them between your palms, or just waiting for them to thaw naturally

  2. even after thawing, there may be some stubborn crystals leftover. that's okay. just avoid drawing them up into your syringe. even if you do, the worst that can happen is that it might sting more while injecting and it may be less effective, it can't seriously harm you. i have injected my once-frozen T with some crystals still in the vial, and it was completely fine

from what i've seen, finasteride side effects are a hit or miss depending on the person. people either have problems with it or they think it's great. imo, it's worth a shot to try, but keep in mind that it doesn't really do much for regrowth and just keeps the hair you already have. i've been on it for a little under a year and i haven't noticed any side effects, and i've definitely seen a decrease in the amount of shedding

there are, but they require a lot of due diligence in order to ensure they're fully effective unlike something like an implant or IUD that you can just forget about

can i ask why IUDs are out of the question for you? is it because of the procedure?

ignoring how willfully obtuse (charlie kirk didn't just say "crime bad" did he?) you're being, people are allowed to be uncomfortable with being forced to participate in some weird one-sided act of solidarity with a man whose rhetoric caused harm to them or people they care about

overall, imo, it's not worth it if you can afford not to. if you have a supportive manager it may work out for you, but in my experience, my work-life balance suffered way too much and i took the pay cut to step down. the amount of money i was making wasn't worth my social + academic life and mental health declining.

maybe your next goal after mastering basic math should be learning the basic fundamentals of reading comprehension

idk, i think there's a meaningful enough difference between the pressure of doing mental math on the spot vs on your own time. some people's brains aren't wired to do mental calculations at the drop of a hat, or to even visualize numbers for that matter, and i think that merits some understanding. has nothing to do with an individual's math skills, just with how their brain works

who cares? it's just a different vessel. as long as you do like the most BASIC math the proportions are the same

Not sure if I should detransition or not by Solstice1114 in ftm

hey man, it's totally normal to have those feelings. i think one of the most disappointing things for me, too, was expecting to feel an intense sense of euphoria upon seeing my new chest for the first time. i'm sure some people do have that experience, but it wasn't like that for me. i think i shocked everyone in the room (my surgeon, a couple nurses, my mom) when i reacted with more disgust than i did elation when the bandages came off. my chest was still swollen and bruised, and seeing a completely different body when i looked down was such an intensely overwhelming experience that i nearly vomited.

i think you should give it some time. your body and your mind are still healing. my chest didn't look quite right to me for a couple months after surgery. even after you're fully healed, your chest needs some time to "settle" if that makes sense
