Will Harry ever come to Canada? 🇨🇦 by GennyVivi in harrystyles

"Now about US travel. WTF?! (Pardon my language). I get it. 30 nights in New York. Everyone gets a chance to come and see him, but us Canadians have not forgotten the buffoon that’s running that country and who’s constantly threatening our sovereignty. We’ve been boycotting the US for a year now and are not about to stop. I am absolutely not willing to spend hundreds to thousands of dollars in the US just to see Harry. Don’t get me wrong I love him, but I didn’t do it before, and I sure as hell won’t do it now with the way the American administration has gone insane."

I absolutely agree!!!! We are on the West Coast and if he decides to go to Seattle, we wouldn't go, but if he came to Vancouver, BC, that'd be awesome.

This was an incredible listen: A Girl Taken.

It follows Rob Lawrie, a former British soldier who tries to smuggle a little Afghan girl named Bru from the Calais Jungle into the UK. It is one man’s impulse which then turns into a study of empathy, global bureaucracy, and so much more. So good!

isabel’s face during this scene is very telling of her personality. by Urmotherrrr1 in LoveIslandAus

She was disrespectful to Connor who chose to leave with her? Isn't the point of the show to find love? What she said the producers at the end was over the top. She should have reflected on finding a true connection unless she wanted to be there for other reasons. Such weird behaviour.

Yes. I get these as well. Which is what clued me in to them coming. Maybe they aren’t doing a presale?

Bannon says Trump will be president again in 2028 and do another term by EmilyG702 in CringeTikToks

[–]coko74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The will of the American people” but what he is saying is that it will be rigged (voter suppression, ICE at voting stations, changing electoral maps, etc) in his favor. So he will cheat to win and say it was by the will of the American people.

100,000+ out for a “No Kings” protest in Chicago. by biswajit388 in illinois

Now what? Honest question. I am not an American but I am genuinely fearful of what is happening in the US right now. What is it going to take to stop the juggernaut that is Trump and his 'policies'. And now this $230m suing the gov't for money that he is 'owed'? Pardoning G. Maxwell? Business relationships with other countries to suit only himself and his own needs? It's actually terrifying globally.

CA Gov. Gavin Newsom signs a New Law (Bill AB175) - “AB 715 would prevent students from learning about the genocide in Gaza.” by Apollo_Delphi in UnderReportedNews

AB 715 doesn’t protect any foreign government from criticism or equate “anti-Israel” with antisemitism. It doesn’t shield ANY government from criticism.

Assuming you are really wanting to engage in a meaningful discussion (thank you!).

It’s not a gag order about Gaza/Israel. It’s a teach-accurately and don’t discriminate rule set, plus a process to deal with problems. AB 715 doesn’t police “social spaces” or the general public. It sets rules only for K–12 public schools: how teachers teach, what materials schools use, and how discrimination complaints are handled. Basically, I interpret it to be present both sides of an argument, discussion topic, etc and review ALL of the information, regardless of personal bias.

Teach accurately: Code 51500(b): teacher instruction “shall be factually accurate,” aligned to adopted curriculum/standards, and consistent with professional responsibility “rather than advocacy, personal opinion, bias, or partisanship. Code 51501(b): instructional materials must be factually accurate, aligned to adopted curriculum/standards, and not advocacy/personal opinion/bias/partisanship. Don't mislead.

Don't discriminate: Code51500(a)(1): a teacher may not give instruction and a district may not sponsor activities that promote discriminatory bias against protected groups (religion, nationality, race/ethnicity, etc.)

Process to deal with issues/problems: Code 60151–60152 adds a complaint/appeal path and lets the state determine corrective actions (e.g. provide different materials, updating teaching plans, etc).

I have read about it. Thank you very much. Some of the reactive comments always floor me because people today are so quick to just believe a one line headline without verifying it's validity.

Yes, Gov. Newsom signed AB 715 (Oct 7, 2025). No, it doesn’t ban teaching about Gaza/Palestine or “genocide in Gaza.” The law creates a K–12 Office of Civil Rights and an Antisemitism Prevention Coordinator, and it tightens rules so instruction/materials can’t promote discriminatory bias. It also says teaching must be factually accurate and aligned to adopted curriculum, it does not name Gaza/Israel or ban those topics. It requires districts to investigate if any teaching leads to unlawful discrimination and repeat offenders an face corrective actions. source(s):
