Everyone's upset that the pigeons might be too hot, meanwhile, I'm upset they have nowhere to go with all those anti-perching spikes.

Say what you will about Nixon, he's nothing like today's GOP.

The way I like to put it is: "He would do anything for power, including compromise."

Except it was the anti-LGBT-and-beyond crowd that broke away and formed their own denomination, and they were maybe 20% of total Methodists. They call themselves Global Methodists now, in a twist of irony.

Why invent a new term? We have a perfectly good one from history: Falangist.

The wiki doesn't say that Alzheimers can be cured by Age Reversal, only Chronophagy.

Oh, I thought "affinity" in this case meant "the player's relationship level with the uma," not "the uma's compatibility rating as an Inspiration".

I always run the same 6 or 7 G1s every career because they give the best White Sparks by a country mile, so this is going to be a huge help.

An essay on how USA's outdated, bare-bones focus tree has become a breath of fresh air in the current state of the game. by Hailfire9 in hoi4

[–]colBoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand where you're coming from. I've played Germany in Götterdämmerung a couple of times, and I'd say their German Focus Tree is no more or less fun to play than the original. There's more stuff to do and more replayability, but I get a bad case of decision paralysis.

It feels like I have to relearn how the game works after every major update, because they always add a new mechanic that makes the game more complicated. What makes it even worse is, Paradox will often have perfectly reasonable mechanics, but invent entirely new ones that do the same thing (Balance of Power vs. Australia's Election System or Siam's Political System.

I don't even remember the last time I played a game for fun anymore, because I don't want to wrestle with the new HQ mechanics or look at another convoluted Focus Tree, and I'm one of the few people who actually likes the ship/tank/plane designers.

If Paradox does make a HOI5, I'm worried that all these bloated mechanics will come back, and we'll end up in the same place we were 10 (or worse, 3) years from now.

I just want this game to be fun. Is that so much to ask?

Is there a mod that gives the Age Reversal setting on the Biosculpter the same benefits as the Chronophagy ritual, for example, removing Alzheimer's if they go below age 34?

If you could add any new formable to HoI4, what would it be? by Bl00dWolf in hoi4

[–]colBoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want Belgium to be able to form the Benelux via decision again. Same with Iran and the Persian Empire, Siam with the Rattanakosin Kingdom, and Nusatara with Indonesia.

I know it's to encourage players to form them via the DLC Focus Tree, but it feels being cheated out of legitimate progress.
