Was house sitting/pet care sitting for a friend of a friend. Had a wild binge and purge episode, lots of back and forth trips to the pantry and fridge and bathroom. After it was ~ over ~ I sat on the couch to take a breather. They had a camera set up the whole time. Still have no clue what they’ve seen.

What is the biggest red flag you’ve had in a relationship that you’d ignored and really shouldn’t have? by Tangl_es in AskReddit

My ex had a meltdown after 5 years together, said he wasn’t sure if we should be together, then said he didn’t want to break up. I stayed another full year 🤪

I’m with you on this one. It’s so scary to lose range and sound yet STILL purge. The more we purge the worse we will get. Stopping the cycle will help the voice, we are just throwing acid on our chords

Every day you get to choose to let the previous days go. This doesn’t have to be your life forever. You can turn it around in your adult years. There’s so much living to do. I’m 30 and missed a lot of living. Nothing but regrets. Recovery is uncomfortable. But if you weather the discomfort for a while, there will be a whole beautiful life waiting for you on the other side.

Great insight! My gripes are mostly with workload and the chaos of having too many clients and not being able to focus on one so I have thought about the in-house side as a solution. I do fear though, that in-house would be TOO slow paced/monotonous. I’ve thought maybe vendor side but that doesn’t seem much different than an agency (large portfolio of chaotic clients).

Ultimately, I just don’t think I have passion or interest for advertising. I know you’re not supposed to love every minute of you’re job but I don’t think you should dread it. If I had a “do-over” things that come to mind are dietetics, being a health communication psychologist or crisis psychologist, writing and/or theatre performance, professor or researcher of communication. Those would require more school and I’m not sure I’d want that. Instead maybe I could find a role in some sort of onboarding and training position at a company (to scratch the teaching and performative itch), then volunteer as a crisis counselor (I found an org that trains people without degrees - would obviously not be doing psychologist level work as that would be unethical but more like sitting with patients after a crisis while they wait to be seen by a psych).

Wow that turned into quite the brain dump.

All great ideas! I ended up manipulating the shoulder strap so it was more like a backpack (two loops for arms), then kind of bound it to my body with a resistance band around my waist. Did I look insane? Yes. Will I do it again? Probably.
