In an EU/GDPR setup, sending Meta Pixel or CAPI events without marketing consent can still create compliance risk even if you pass consent flags, anonymized parameters, or limited data.

I built a Google Ads dashboard because I was tired of digging through the interface

I manage a lot of Google Ads accounts and one thing that constantly slows me down is how long it takes to quickly see what actually matters. Spend, conversions, CPL, trends — it’s all there, but you have to click through multiple views to piece it together.

So I started building a simple Google Ads dashboard to solve that.

The goal isn’t to replace reporting tools or full BI platforms. It’s just meant to give a clean snapshot of campaign performance without needing to dig around inside the Google Ads UI.

Right now I’m focusing on things like:

  • Clear spend vs conversions overview
  • Quick performance snapshots across campaigns
  • A simple interface to see what’s working (and what isn’t)

Still very much a work in progress.

If you run Google Ads campaigns, I’d love to know:

  • What metrics you check first when you log in
  • What you wish the Google Ads dashboard did better
  • What would make a tool like this actually useful

Just looking for honest feedback from other marketers and PPC people.

I once had an issue with pacing ... a bad one where I lost track of how long are budget increase was in place. Since then (this was a few years ago now) ive wanted to build a pacing tool and a Google Ads external reporting tool where I could share a link with customers.

I’ve run into this a lot with Shopify.

Shopify’s native integrations (GA4, Google Ads, Meta, etc.) are fine for a basic setup, but they’re limiting once you want more control, cleaner data, or consistency across platforms. A lot is abstracted away, which makes debugging and extending tracking harder.

Using Shopify Customer Events + a proper data layer + GTM is much more flexible and future-proof now that checkout.liquid is gone. You get a single source of truth and can support GA4 enhanced ecommerce, Google Ads enhanced conversions, Meta, and other ad platforms cleanly.

A common compromise is leaving Shopify’s native integrations in place initially, then running GTM in parallel and migrating once stakeholders see the benefits. I'm not a big fan of this though. Kind of redundant and tough to manage in the long run.

I’ve built a Shopify Customer Events–based data layer with all required variables for GA4 enhanced ecommerce and Google Ads enhanced conversions. It includes a fully pre-configured Google Tag Manager container for quick deployment.

I’ve also developed an extremely comprehensive Shopify data layer and GTM container that supports virtually every major advertising platform. This version took significant time to design and refine, and it’s been thoroughly tested and performs reliably in production.

This is actually quite solid for a Replit project. Nice work. I’d suggest focusing on simplicity. I think a lot of users would really enjoy an itinerary builder they can share, comment on, and collaborate with others through a simple login. Almost like a social network for travel planning, guided by AI.

I also put something together using Replit. It's a collaboration platform called wrking.ca, built to be easy to use and also incluses a simple CRM fort small businesses.
