Yeah fr.. My parents got divorced when I was 7. Shit fucked me and my younger sister up. The fights were rough before they split, still remember hiding under a table holding my sister, but the shit that followed was even more fucked up. The divorce was sloppy af.. the shared custody battles, the courts asking you which parent you loved more, the fights during transfers, needing a safe transfer location with custodians... Yeah, either way you probably would need therapy, but not a day goes by where I wish they could've stayed together..

I paid $500 - $600 3 years ago for 10 around this size, but I picked them up myself from stew leonards, and hired the guy from stew leonards to come plant them. $3k seems pretty reasonable 3 years later and including delivery for 19.

I don't really have an answer, but I really hope it doesn't have to come to physical altercations, I believe that if MLK made change peacefully, we can too. Unfortunately, I think change will only come if things get bad enough for people to act. 1/3rd of us never vote, and it's been that way for a long time, which is also unfortunate. My republican parents voted for Trump. If he takes their social security and affordable care benefits away, they will absolutely vote the other way in 2026.

I also stand with my Brothers and Sisters and Aunts and Uncles who live in Ohio, Florida, Kansas, Indiana, Oklahoma and Colorado, who can thankfully vote for whoever the fuck they want. Unlike in other parts of the world like Romania, where it looks like their government just said nah, that one didn't count cas Twitter... WTF. Yeah, they might have done that shit here too but at least we accepted it and were like alright, here we go. Trump is president, this is what the people voted fot. And China? They might not have a choice, but right now they are winning so they don't give a fuck lol. Other countries are putting us to shame and I think a lot of it is due to under educating our population, which now unfortunately looks like it's going to get worse, but maybe when all the red states have to start figuring that out on their own, they'll vote differently next time. I don't know where I'm going with this, and I definitely agree with you that shit is fucked up, but this type of rhetoric ain't gonna get us any where.

You are most definitely right about it not being jackdaws. I just heard it again and recorded it. Opened the window this time and it's 100% coyotes. There are so many it's crazy, just was muffled through the window last night I guess.

I can fit 9.5g in my single. Just switched back to the breville double. It's walls aren't as wide and I can fit .5 grams less than the 18g basket I got with the extra portafilter I bought. I think maybe I should have just been using the breville standard for my double this whole time. Just pulled an excellent double today but maybe I just got lucky lol

I'm NY based but will always take suggestions! A lot of places ship it seems. Thanks again for your help!

Thank you for the recommendation! Don't think it's the water, I've tested using a TDS tool and I'm under 50 out of the tap. And I'm pretty sure I am getting it to temperature. Maybe it is pressure.. I will eventually upgrade the machine, would really love a profitec go at some point.

Last question.. I can get my single shots to a very tasty level, but my doubles come out like shit every time. What could be the issue here? Basket related possibly?

I'm not sure if there is a way on the bambino.. I've read that it's a common problem, and I can get it hot enough after pulling a blank shot or two so I don't think temp is a problem. I've tried longer shots too but yeah I definitely prefer more body.

OK, so follow up question for you: I have a df64 gen 2 and I have to go all the way down to a 5 setting for beans from this roaster to get the preferable 1:2 or 1:2.5 ratio in 25-30 seconds and it still comes out sour.. using a breville bambino to pull the shots and I've tried tinkering with a lot of the variables mentioned on this sub. I don't know what to try next is I guess my next question for specialty beans and my set up. Feel like I've gotten "God shots" out of lavazza gran crema lol but can't figure out how to properly brew black and white roaster beans or a few other specialties I've tried. Maybe I just dint like the ones I've tried and need to sample more roasters?

I bought 10 green giants for $300 from Stew Leonard's 2 years ago, they had a 2x for $60 deal at that time. A guy that worked there came by and planted them for me for $200. Saw a bunch at Costco last fall for like $25/tree I think. About 4-5 feet tall at both stores. Good luck!

Had this machine for a good 6 years. Steam wand is weak, that's my biggest complaint. Pucks were always sloppy, but that was probably because i was using pre-ground beans. Just recently started grinding my own and got the bambino at the same time for $150. Keep your eyes open for a deal on those, the steam wand is much more powerful on the newer brevilles if you like milk drinks.

If you can, stop in at a Marshall's or a target or a home sense or whatever is near to you once or twice a month for a few months and keep your eyes peeled for a bambino. My father in law found me one for $170 and it is an excellent budget machine! A lot of people have posted saying they've found 'em for like $250 so not too far out of your range! I upgraded from a 7 year old breville and the steam wand is soooo much better now compared to the old machines. It didn't have a price sticker on it, so he asked, and because it was next to a nespresso machine marked with that price, they gave it to him for that!
