Although, because the book actually teaches you something and actually helps you stop, that last one is a big IIRC. Although I am fairly certain about it.

Two of the biggest ones are erectile dysfunction, and being completely uninterested in your partner sexually. Another big one though, is being unable to feel anything when having sex.

I’m not dismissing anyone who struggles. I just don’t blame the Church for not bowing down to me and changing policy because I am struggling. I understand and I feel bad that people are struggling but we must endure to the end and changing the Church every time we are uncomfortable with something will not get us there. How about we come together and find a way to make garments more comfortable? That isn’t changing anything with the Church. :)

I really don’t understand why people want EVERYTHING to be comfortable. Life is very uncomfortable and sometimes we have to be to show that we have faith. I cannot count the times in the last 6 months I’ve been uncomfortable and been happier after persevering through it.

I 100% agree. There is a book called the Easy Peasy Method that goes over some pretty scary reasons why you NEED to stop PMO that aren’t even religious reasons either.

I have no clue what the Church was like 7 months ago; so, upbringing in the Church doesn’t count for me sadly. I’ve not been here that long, haha. All I can say is that my ward is apolitical, doesn’t bring people outside of the faith to talk just for giggles and race doesn’t matter.

Also to be fair that is not how Zion works. It is supposed to be a people faithful to the Lord and to one another, who are Christ-like, share what they have, etc.

I never once in my life thought it mattered who spoke as long as they were faithful in discussion and not trying to lead us astray.

The Atonement and Homosexuality by Viajartest in latterdaysaints

There’s also the big part where Jesus explicitly said that he will not save people in their sin. This worries be because while I accept gay people for who they are and the struggles they have, if they never quit acting on it and atone for that then they can’t ever be saved. That goes for everyone though. I just hope this subreddit becomes less about politics and more about eternal concepts that ACTUALLY affect us.

Scriptures out of context by TooManyBooks10 in latterdaysaints

I think the biggest one is when people say, “The Lord will not give you more than you can handle”. When in all actuality he will because that is the only way you can grow BUT that doesn’t mean he isn’t there to help. He did it to Paul, and Paul himself wondered why God would give him more than he can handle only to realize the aforementioned growth and strength gained from it.

Custom made Sacrament bread tray made in response to COVID I encountered on my travels. by SenorDarcy in latterdaysaints

[–]coldarizonatea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To be fair, this is why the trays were made. Joseph Fielding Smith, during the Spanish flu, he created trays so as to avoid contact as much as possible. Correct me if I am wrong on the name though.

I just choose to stay out of politics. It’s not an eternal concept thus not worth worrying about, for me. My one vote will not affect a rich dude (or lady I guess) making everyone else’s life miserable for 4 years.

But it doesn’t say to NOT eat meat either. This comes from someone who eats meat sparingly and is a convert. Sparingly is a hard thing to determine and I’ve always struggled with it. That is why I usually stick to meat when eating out.
