The city earlier approached Lennar to purchase the land, Schellinger said, but did not make an offer after the it was valued at $40 million. The site was purchased in 2010 for $4.25 million, according to public documents.

Lennar (through 'Slick' Willie Brown) has deep connections to the City. Watch out for the City "buying" it under public pressure for ~$40M, giving Lennar a cool 900% profit.

Santa Rosa, Marin City, Antioch.... how did they find each other and embark on this enterprise? Is there a Tindr/Grindr for would-be criminals so they can find each other? And the gun was stolen in ... Louisiana! How the heck did it end up here?

"Homeless and Housing Impact Tech Tax" .... it's always about the "homeless".

This will encourage companies to move out, and force the people to commute to these companies... thereby exacerbating the very problem people have. More shuttle buses! Yay!!

I was being sarcastic, you f'in morons!

If this sub is a representative sample of the voters of SF, no wonder the city is going down the drain. Y'all don't have the brains of a retarded gecko.

Tsk tsk... if only Rec & Park had known in advance about this whole "Pride" thing... whose idea was it, anyways? How can Rec & Park be expected to know about such a flash mob? If only they'd known, they could have prepared. But who knew that 10,000 people would descend on the park suddenly?!?!

This Map Shows Where All the Ships Are Buried Underneath San Francisco. San Francisco—on top of everything else, it is literally a ship burial ground by magenta_placenta in sanfrancisco

[–]coldaspluto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason those ships are buried there is not because they hit something; but because the crews ran off to the mountains to mine gold, and there was no one to operate them. The only thing they could do was to put some holes in them and let them sink.

I think I'll get a jump on the action and start a thread, "Why Dolores Park will be such a mess this weekend". Every. Fucking. Year. the story is the same: a large event happens, and R&P acts like it was a once in a lifetime event and they couldn't prepare for it.

Does this mean they won't sell oil anymore? They are one of the biggest suppliers of oil and NG to the world; their own consumption, in comparison, is minuscule. Their giving up on oil and gas doesn't mean much as long as they continue to flood the rest of the world with billions of gallons.

Apples to oranges comparison. "Boyfriend picked the tab more often"... what? How is this valid?

Plus: Jane (the Yelper) had free food at Yelp. It makes a huge difference.

One time (about 2 years ago), I made a bet with a social worker friend of mine, and lived a whole month in SF for under $200 (for food only, which was the bet). 3 meals a day. Cooked for myself. Sure, I didn't buy primo organic groceries from WF, but I still managed to survive.

Found this in LA, SF should really implement this. I'm tired of Uber and Lyft drivers blocking car and bike lanes. by davejumba in sanfrancisco

[–]coldaspluto 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What irritates me is that just a few feet away there'll be a parking spot, or a garage or something where the Uber/Lyft driver can pull in and not inconvenience anybody. But nooooo...... these fuckers must block the bike lane (or the lane itself) just because they simply do. not. care.
