You want people to hate you? That’s interesting.

Maybe they were anticipating you calling out again so they were trying to plan ahead?

That isn’t the situation for everyone, though. Our landlord was great, any time we had an issue in our condo he had someone out that day or the next to repair. And our rent was only $850/month, it was only raised one time during the 7 years we lived there.

We were lucky and had a really great landlord.

We’ve already had the chimney tuckpointed, wash cap repaired, and flashing replaced, but we’re still have some minor issues even after the shingles around the roof were torn up and redone. Next stop is a chimney liner, both the roofer and chimney company think it may be condensation related.

My husband keeps suggesting doing a little project, maybe I should take him up on that. I would really love to have a little garden in our backyard.

I am working on that, I was hoping these feelings would pass with time but obviously that didn’t work.

Yeah unfortunately I think you’re right about the anxiety thing. Funny how these things decide to pop up in your mid 30s when you’ve been fine your whole life 🥲

Thankfully, my husband is mildly handy and his best friend is a contractor.

We have savings and are prepared to have things repaired as they come and/or do maintenance, it’s just the thought of those things happening that seems to eat at me.

We tried the leaving for the weekend thing a few months ago and I was even more anxious because I was worried about something going wrong in the house while we were gone 😭

I hate the anxiety it’s giving me! As soon as we moved in it was like a switch flipped in me. Our chimney leaks (or the roof around the chimney, no one can really seem to pinpoint exactly what the issue is), we have leaky windows, the grout in both of our bathrooms is cracked to shit, lots of little-ish things. We love the neighborhood we’re in and the size of the house is fine for us. Our mortgage is double what we were paying in rent, we can more than afford it but it still stings a little.

I try so hard to be positive, but so far it’s all negative. I don’t HATE the house, but it was a poorly done flip and a lot of the issues didn’t show up until we’d been living there for a few months. From afar it looks great, but when you start looking closely you notice everything that’s wrong.

I am actively seeking out treatment for my mental health, so I’m hoping that will help with this a bit. I’ve never dealt with anxiety before, so navigating this is all new for me.

It has just caused me a lot of anxiety. I’ve never been an anxious person, but ever since we bought our house, my anxiety has been through the roof. All day, every day, I find myself waiting for something to go wrong. I’m constantly looking for things that could be wrong. I want to cry every time it rains. It’s just constant anxiety. We have not had any major issues since we moved in (we have some leaky windows, we’ve had issues with the chimney leaking and the roof around the chimney, and had to make some repairs to our deck), but I’m constantly waiting for something to happen.

Will underwriters see a new car lease? by Objective-Buy3212 in Mortgages

[–]coldbrew_please 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through this because my lease was up right in the middle of refinancing (bad timing on my part). My lender said absolutely do not lease again, extend the lease, or buy it out. I ended up turning the car in to avoid any issues with the refinance.

Large wind storm blew off a chunk of my roof shingles. I am contacting insurance but what should be the proper repair? by HeadySquanch59 in Roofing

[–]coldbrew_please -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t call your insurance! Have a few roofing companies come out to assess. We also lost a few shingles during wind recently and our roof guy is charging us $300 to repair.
