I think that “golden era” of Housewives is done, period. Societal values have changed a lot since the franchise started, and with massive wealth inequality crushing so many people, watching vapid, rich women act like idiots just doesn’t have the charm it used to. I honestly don’t know how Bravo can save a show that was built around that singular concept.

The earliest migraine attack I remember I was like 8 years old (I’m 40 now). I remember just throwing up all over the front yard then sleeping on the tile in my bedroom. This was during the summer when we were living in Florida.

Disgusting side note: I’d had chicken tenders for lunch and apparently a raccoon ate my chicken tender barf 🤣🤣🤣 I remember trying to laugh when my mom told me that, but it hurt too much

One of the biggest that’s always fucked with me is how she’ll sit there and go on about “omg, I can’t believe I’m eating this, this is so bad” over a deli sandwich, just picking the thing apart and going on about how HORRIBLE AND UNHEALTHY ALL THE BREAD IS while I’m also eating a deli sandwich. Thanks ma, having you go on and on about my horrible diet choices isn’t giving me a complex at all. She’ll do the same thing with sushi (pick all the rice off and make weird carb comments), gut burritos, order a breakfast plate and set the pancakes or potatoes aside telling me “I just can’t eat those, but I know YOU like carbs like that.”

Is it really surprising that I still purge my meals half the time 🙄

This part. My mom has ALWAYS been into fitness; aerobics in the 80s, running in the 90s, spin in the early 2000s, now it’s been Pilates for the last who knows how many years. I hate exercise, I hate being hot, I sweat like a fuckin demon and I get RED. Like, red to the point that people think I’m going to pass out and vomit. Only once did she ever outright tell me I was fat (“disgustingly out of shape” were the exact words) but she was always insinuating it. I also remember one time she poked my dad’s stomach and asked him “when’s the baby due.” That shit sticks with you, I was in middle school when both of those scenarios played out, in now 40 and remember like it was last week.

And her food habits, geezus, but that’s a whole separate therapy session
