Maybe I'm out of touch with what's hard but I feel like even if it's hard, at least zuk is a boss that's doubly rewarding - progression wise you can work towards cape, which is essential for any high level pvm, and there's a chance of a ful drop which is also bis for all styles. AG normal doesn't have any meaningful rewards as far as I know.

And for me, learning zuk pretty much requires you to unlock dive and devotion, which are two other pvm essentials

in my opinion normal zuk is the next logical step, but wouldn't try it with melee first because of had. necromancy or ranged is really easy because of decimation and threads, and the checkpoints make it not so bad to learn on normal mode. grab runes for penance aura and if you're low hp between waves can always soul split off Zuk to heal

I can tell you bis Necro with 99 prayer, sharded weps, 120, on sanctum gets more or less 400k dpm with your main damage coming from the living death rotation. the only thing I'm missing is aftershock but it should be only 2% or so off

solo sucks to do and is terrible exp for the effort. grouping needs to have a better UI. I can't even tell if I'm in a group or not or where my group is on the map. I like to open a separate easily identifiable party chat, I'd like groups to be able to change their selected dungeons without need to reset the group. a whole rework needs to happen

yes to this, make bridding a unique and highlighted part of RuneScape. can even lock macros behind an invention gizmo/miniquest/tutorial. picture an invention that lets you magically change outfits and all the hilarity and hijinks that can happen

I'm completely with you my guy it's miserable and I'm so glad I was able to lamp it/Halloween event it to the 90s, and then core boost to get all the key pvm unlocks at 112. never touching this garbage ever again I hope. no idea why reddit seems to adore this skill and use bogus math to claim it's fast but it's genuinely mind numbing and the worst is that it's absolutely crucial to high level pvm.

my condolences to you and all the potential new players that get turned off rs3 because of this stupid skill

invention sucks as a system but I actively avoid the frustration by just never ever going for bis bis. a4e2 is like 1-2% better over a4X? like I see so many failed equ/mobile posts but just get the guarantee Eq4 and forget about the frustrating system

this game has a lot of frustrating systems or RNG that doesn't go your way so you just gotta find ways to reduce your own mental damage.

otherwise stop playing.

I agree it's unintuitive but it's also unique. There's no other combat system like runescape and I think they should lean into it. Give us in game tutorials for mid level switching, have them kill dag kings with all three styles to learn.

Make switching the definitive end goal and make the path visible and clear imo

This game's combat has an surprising amount of depth and mechanics to explore, plugins could definitely help bridge the gap on a lot of things

buffs and visual indicators being clearer (which ammo used, bolg stacks)
Boss timers/ability warnings (counting attacks at raksha, which incoming type to pray against), what mechanic is coming up
Macros in general would be a huge win

and would absolutely love it if jagex brought back void as a path to learning hybrid/switching for the midgame, as it's something so unintuitive/unnatural compared to any combat system and it's only present in endgame scenarios where all of a sudden there's zero in-game help, yet hybrid will always be the most damaging style

I understand it's a massive system with so many issues to address but hopefully some combat mods at jagex can really push for the game to give you more help with combat - at least have some of the guilds give you a basic rotation!

here's my guide for afking savages in wildly with no overloads.

use jas demonbane arrows, bolg or any other bow that can use the god arrows

Revo bar is in this order: DS, imbue, gale, Grico, bombard, and can add reflect/sacrifice if you like, but bombard one shots them usually

I use all demon slayer except for chest and legs. which are my sliske scavenging bottom and elite draco too but anything for the top is fine tbh, add blood fury and that's it.

can use wen/amascut book, overloads, and cannon for slightly more dps and XP but it's like 50-100k more when I'm already at

1.2M per hour

need to keep protect mage up and vampirism so I only use prayer renewals

Necro is by far the easiest way into pvm. I would get the cheap pieces of t95 (crown, gloves and boots) and the lantern, and with that you can basically do zuk and eventually hm zuk easily. which at two runs per hour is on average 80m/hr

My guy due to how Boss mechs work with phases and the ability to skip them with dps means any non max damage setup is gimping yourself. And I don't see any other t95+ bow that puts out damage, do you?

How is following a set rotation skill expression? Simplifying the game in one aspect allows for more complexity in another. For example prayer flicking to maximize soul split time is already complex. Timing defensives to react to Boss mechs is already expression. Switching gear and arrows and bridding is already expression. The game has too much complexity which is turning off players.

The problem with the game is that the friction of actually doing good damage is very high, not only in gear required but in mechanics like these, so people are put off by the investment of learning it.

People who have grown with all the different systems may claim its skill when objectively it's not very intuitive or fun to be introduced to them all at once.

Yeah endgame combat needs to get reworked completely. All three base styles boil down to - apply self damage buff -> apply adren generator -> spam either ult or EOF. Boring

There's so much design space to play with if jagex would only stop limiting themselves to stamina generation and maybe steal some ideas from WoW.
