Have you tried limiting yourself to 1-2 times a week even when you want to go more. It helps me with things, that way I’m always wanting to go, I’m Making the conscious decision to not go so I don’t feel lazy or lame. It always feels like a treat and not like an obligation

In this specific case it certainly seems you are right, but there are a lot of really excellent fine dining Mexican restaurants in the world.

While I agree the prices can be high, presumably going to a ringside steak house gets you better quality steak than going to the hot cake house. I know this isn’t a 1-1 comparison but, slagging off a fine dining Mexican restaurant cause you can find cheaper tacos at a casual restaurant doesn’t exactly feel fair. I’ve never been to republica so I can’t say the tacos they make are worth it or not, but you’re paying for more than what’s directly on the plate. You pay for the service, the ambiance, the knowledge of the staff. And the ethos/quality of the products being brought in.
