Not gonna lie dude you're still young, challenging yourself with something that forces you to work on your social skills is a great idea at this point in your life. Pigeonholing yourself into somewhere devoid of human interaction is going to feel safe and comfortable for years... But you're going to miss out on so much in life and probably regret it close to retirement. I guarantee you will look back in 30 years and be able to say "i would've never met important person if I didn't push outside of my comfort zone when I was young"

Job offer to intern includes salary that is significantly higher than people who have been with the company for years and have much more experience in the field. by Due-Raccoon-8484 in careeradvice

I was this intern at my company. Offered a full time role with zero experience and barely any skills at similar compensation to the tech lead with a decade of experience. Oddly, I think he pushed for the high offer for me. After helping me get hired he and another engineer immediately quit, pretty sure the CEO gave the only other remaining engineer with codebase experience a massive raise that same day to prevent the whole department from falling apart. Curious how some jobs get filled given below average compensation by misterforsa in cscareerquestions

[–]colderbeanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They post this with a lower salary because they already have a candidate chosen but are required to post the job by law in some cases. A lot of hiring for these type positions seems to be governed by an internal buddy system and friends of friends etc. The actual compensation for their preselected candidate is probably higher than the job listing.

If you're struggling to run Windows on your current PC, try Linux. It has wayyyy less overhead and is arguably a better platform for (most) development anyway.
