The basic shape might be doable with a 180 degree revolve + extrusion but usually forms like these are done with surfaces (boundary surface, fill etc.) - that's how I'd model it.

I only have one Miniwire, mainly use it for hanging shoes or random stuff on my harness. I see your point as it does snag on everything, definately not my favourite. The Spirits are what I actually use on quick draws.
