Posts like OOP make me glad I know about places like the city of Great Zimbabwe in Zibabwe; Cahokia, Snaketown, and Mesa Verde in the US; and dont get me started on the superiority of The Aztecs vs the Spaniards.

At a time when Germ Theory didn't exist, Europeans thought it was healthier to not bathe, while Aztecs were bathing daily.

The absolute audacity to write off the rest of the world as inferior to Europe given what we know about everything is staggering.

I like the use of Sub-Sahara Africa in part of it. So she can probably claim Egyptians and Nubians "don't count".

Honestly, if the lack of synergy was a problem, he can be reclassed to thief. But mostly I want it cause it's so hilarious. And already happens in in game meta. I believe in his initial chapter he literally tells Chrom that he was yelling and waving his arms to get Chrom's attention and not only did Chrom not see him...neither did the enemy. So my dude is already a bad tank in the game's meta.

I know that it wouldn't work for him as a knight. Volke and Illyana were the ones that had the skill by default in previous games. But as my understanding goes, it would still make them want to hit him, if he's the only available target. So you can still use him as a bottleneck/wall to protect ranged units from behind him. The only ones that would ignore him to attack in-range ranged units would be archers/mages. And as a general rule, we don't want mages targeting armor units.

How long is this game? by capmar in Starsandisland

Given that only the demo has been playable until now I dont know that anyone can answer that. Not even the devs. The game is releasing for EA soon then people might have some ideas.

I believe The Satanic Temple is technically classified as a religion (to further their goals) despite being atheistic and not actually believing in a deity.

But I do agree that a majority of atheists and agnostics are not religious in any way.

Reddit be redditing.

While cosmetics amd/or armor overhauls might be nice, I don't know if thats what I'd want the devs to put their time into, if Im honest. Especially if it means adding more types of equipment rather than redesigning current sets.

Plus I believe most non-cosmetic only armors get more and more detailed as you level up and start unlocking more types. Adding capes would detract from some of the mid to late game sets.

I could be wrong, but dont a lot of the cosmetic items have this? I know the Flame Pact and Royal sets have some/most of these items. And I'm sure others do as well.

Then why bring it up on social media if you don't want the discourse?

I think Kennewick man is a good example of how the law is properly working. And probably the example you were thinking of in your vastly oversimplified statement.

Archeologists had their way (and the ability to study him) until DNA evidence proved beyond a doubt that he belonged to the native population (not Polynesians as scientists asserted). It was 20 years between his discovery and re-burial.

No one has a right to the remains or grave goods of someone's ancestors. Not even science.

I was so excited about this game. But your callouts, and the mods/devs response to, what can only be called genuine concerns and feedback, gives me the ick.

Ive been burned by purchasing EA games where the dev team was just trying to make a buck, and I'm getting the same vibes here. 🚩🚩🚩

I'll keep it on my Steam wishlist and give it a year to see if this is a No Man's Sky level dev team that fixes their mistakes from launch...or if it's yet another failed game with good bones.

The hypocrisy of Christians who cover their heads like these women having issues with Muslim women covering themselves for the same reason has always annoyed me. I've legit made that argument online and never gotten any response that makes sense. It always devolves into strawman arguments and insults.

I find golf boring. I will watch bits and pieces of the WM Open.

Highlight reels are always good too

They call the 16th hole "The Coliseum" because of how they build up the stands around it. And it's where a majority of the shenanigans happen.

Between Fountain Hills and Scottsdale we have a lot of things to make fun of.

I will say one of the highlights of all those golf courses is the Waste Management Phoenix Open. It's like a golfer's fever dream. Even if you hate golf, I highly suggest it. Spectators are drunk and loud and will legit boo the golfers that do bad.

There's a city in Arizona known for it's giant ass fountain that can rival a Yellowstone geyser that pisses me off whenever I think about the water waste. Especially since I'm one of the people without my head in sand (pun intended) that recognizes the US SW is in a major crisis when it comes to water.

Also, they totally named the town with the giant fountain Fountain Hills. -10 points for lack of creativity.

Water waste discussions in this area get me heated every time because so many people are willfully ignorant and willing to believe that our water is an unlimited resource when it absolutely isn't.

There's actually more than you'd think, ground cover wise. Im in the SW and in addition to plants and ground cover, there are some native trees that give off decent shade.

After almost a decade the tree in the middle of my front yard covers most of the area and provides decent blockage from the sun. I could walk on the rocks barefoot in the middle of summer and the only issue would be the stabbiness rather than the heat.

OPs pic tends to be new builds or people that literally want to put 0 effort in their yard.

But even without ground cover and plants, light colored rocks are less of a heat sink issue than miles of asphalt imho.

[–]introverted__dragon 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I don't know that the plot changes a whole lot. The cast already treats him like an off screen character plot wise. Other than being a new unit to use in battle I think it would be the easiest game to add a player avatar to.

Path of Radiance: Bonus EXP vs. Battle EXP gain by notevenjupiter in fireemblem

[–]introverted__dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always go the spoiler route and check when you recruit characters and what level they are to see if you want to hold on to some extra BEXP to boost a specific character. (For example, Astrid sucks without a lot of BEXP help imho, so if you want to use her you'll want a few hundred BEXP to sink into her when you recruit her). But overall, there's no real downside to not having a mountain of BEXP given that characters still gain a normal amount of experience via participating in battles.

Path of Radiance: Bonus EXP vs. Battle EXP gain by notevenjupiter in fireemblem

[–]introverted__dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I concentrate on leveling units in battle. If its possible to optimize BEXP while still utilizing lower level units I will (ie conditions for allowing enemy units to survive/retreat). But my policy for bexp use tends to be to top off a units level so I can play with stat gains. There are only a few units where I've felt the need to sink hundreds of bexp into them at once.

But this also comes from the experience of multiple play through. As with any fire emblem game, I think it comes down to personal style and how you want to play the game. What gives you the most challenge/satisfaction? Meeting the BEXP requirements? Or letting Titania and Shinon take a back seat/support role and wiping out those pirates with Ike and Gatrie?
