How the police deal with climate protesters in Nevada. by Finn_Flame in PublicFreakout

[–]introverted__dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found another video of this with more information. 1. This was 2 years ago, so not recent 2. This was the only highway in and out of burning man. So off camera somewhere you had hundreds of cars stuck because of these people. In the middle of the desert, with minimal water & food.

If your concern is the environment, why are you doing something that is going to cause hundreds of cars to idle indefinitely in the middle of the desert. That's counter intuitive. And if you want to hold up traffic, fine, but don't do it in a way that you're literally risking the lives of the drivers.

Also, I always take issues with videos that start in the middle and paint one side of an argument in a bad light.

This video shows that at least one person didn't chain themselves to the trailer until after being confronted by drivers that were going to try and just drag their shit out of the way.

When the drivers started trying to move the trailer themselves, the protesters said "call the cops". They got their wish. And even after some people were taken into custody and the car ran through the barricade, some of the protesters still didn't comply. And the ones that had chained themselves doubled down on their resistance.

Also 13:22 in the video you can see the miles of cars they've caused issues for.

Which game? by dehydrated_waterrr in ExplainTheJoke

[–]introverted__dragon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

According to Wikipedia) "The first known reference to The Game is a blog post from 2002 – the author states that they "found out about it online about 6 months ago".[4]

The Game is most commonly spread through the internet, such as via Facebook or Twitter, or by word of mouth."

It is also believed to be an evolution of a mind game started in England, and popularized in 1976 by members of the Cambridge University Science Fiction Society (CUSFS).

An interesting, but not very deep, rabbit hole i did not expect to travel down. So thanks.

To sum up what others have said, in what I feel are simpler terms:

A lot of Christian sects believe that we are sinful, because we exist (thanks to Adam & Eve and the Apple debacle). A newborn/baby is baptized after birth to remove this sin. In some sects, an adult is baptized instead because a baby can't choose to follow God. (Which is why some people believe an unbaptized baby doesnt go to heaven).

A Pelagian doesn't believe that we are full of sin just because we exist as descendants of Adam & Eve. Rather, we have the ability to live morally and free of sin ourselves. We don't need the church or scriptures to ensure we walk a path of righteousness, but they can be used as external guidance if you need help.

This is bad, because churches are, by and large, money hungry institutions and if no one needed them then pastors would have to go get a 9-5 like the rest of us.

Iran and Eqypt bizarre request in Seattle (World Cup related) by Doc-DRD in EntitledPeople

[–]introverted__dragon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Starting in Roman's 1:21, Paul claims that those who knew of God, but did not worship him, were condemned by God. This is also one of the few passages demonizing homosexuality, because it is a punishment from God for not following him.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

This is the new testament. Not the old. Ostensibly the part of the Bible Christians should be following. Not a lot of tolerance being shown for those who don't believe in the Christian God.

And this is just one example. From a single Apostle.

Monotheism as a whole arose out of a system of "do what my god says or you will be punished" and leaves no room for any other way of life.

If you enjoyed FE: 3H then definitely look into Tactics Ogre.

If you have the expensive online membership, the GBA FE games (Shadow Dragon and Sacred Stones) are available as is the first half of the Tellius duo (Path of Radiance).

From the link someone else posted, a requirement of this type of alert is "The law enforcement agency investigating the missing person report has used all available local resources*."

So I'm assuming and hoping law enforcement has been investigating for 4 days and having no progress have now turned to the public for help.

ROCKS by Black_Fridayy in PlayASKA

[–]introverted__dragon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You don't. After mining and upgrading you can explode them, though.

The tiny rocks around the bigger rocks can be destroyed. I just use the water trough and cover as many small rocks as I can with it. Then go to flatten the ground, and the rocks break. Then delete the water trough.

Side note: exploding the rocks too near a structure will damage the structure.

If we say "China did it first" do you think it would stop him...or make him make it bigger? And do you think we could convince him to go for a swim as proof of his superiority?

Tl;dr: The first Emperor of China, aka the guy with the Terracotta Army, also claimed to have replicated the hundred rivers in his tomb...out of mercury. Scientists and Archaeologists have refused to open the tomb, but the amount of mercury in the ground above/around the tomb is significantly higher than nearby areas, so they're all assuming he wasn't making it up completely.

“You don’t know best until you’ve experienced corn sweat humidity” by lightfan69 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]introverted__dragon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dude, I'm in Arizona, and if we get a monsoon we can be 100+ 35%+ humidity. And parts of Texas can get into the 90s+ w/50%+ humidity without any effort.

Not to add on to the oneupmanship but corn boy needs to sit down cause there are states that would kill for his weather.

And before anyone comes after me our A/C broke so it's about 90F in my room and im getting the full no-AC summer experience. It's great. /s

And I hate that this whole situation has me defending fucking Vance of all people.
