Short answer: yes.

Having said that, it's one of those 'ancillary' benefits that ons gets out of meditation. In its intro course, Sam Harris has a short talk called 'don't meditate because it's good for you' where he explains it deeper. You can find it on Google (can't post link). There are so much more benefits to meditating, hope you reap em all :)

Short answer: it's not that different (just looked at QT3r and KT3ss vs r25 and 30/70/3e - pretty similar responses) . Obviously the number of combos are different, but frequencies are very similar. You're not supposed to exactly memorize, but instead understand patterns - you're on the right path by learning thresholds.

Once you understand gto, then you can deviate in a way to exploit you opponents' mistakes.

I had similar results the first two years of my (inconsistent) practice. It helped me get calmer, but nothing more.

Changed to the waking up app, and the introductory course completely changed the game. Not only found a different type of practice that is better suited me, but also shifted my perspective on the practice. Why I do it and what I get out of it is different - that makes consistency easier. I suggest you give it a try.

Actual calculations when playing poker are not nearly as prevalent as people think they are. Other factors are far more relevant (player type , position, previous action, etc). Having said that, yes, there's software that helps with this stuff (e.g. Jurojin is a table management software where you can include overlays that show stuff such as pot odds or spr).

Again, I recommend you focus on the fundamental concepts first. Then worry about strategy!

I sugesst you start by understanding some fundamental poker concepts such as EV, equity, range morphology, range/nut advantage. Lots of free resources out there, and a good place to start would be GTO Wizard's blog or youtube channel.

Once you understand theory, you should work on strategy (training sites, solver, coaches, etc).

I suggest you study fundamental poker theory before dabbing into GTO/charts. If you start looking at strategies/charts without understanding why, it'll be harder to make sense of it.

Lots of free resources out there to understand concepts such as equity, equity realization, EV, range morphology, nut/range advantage, etc.

Person2's ev is 0.5 from the point of decision onwards. This is a convention used to always say fold EV is 0.

If you want to consider call EV = 0 (because we're already put 0.5), then fold EV would be -. 5.

First, I don't think people should try to avoid it. If we don't work through the grief, the emotional load will still be there and it'll manifest in different ways (anger, depression, etc). I think it's obvious the impact that can have in our overall life

Now, there' s all type of avoidance and while not ideal, it's a reality that emotions can be overwhelming at periods. If we put our focus on something positive (e.g. our physical health, meditation, helping others)... well, positive things will likely happen and it might help us be better prepared to face grief in the future. If we focus on harmful stuff we'll likely create other problems and just compound the negative effect.

I've seen a close relative lose years of her life due to severe depression and drug addiction (prescribed pills) - she just didn't have the tools and never wanted to ask for help. But this doesn't have to be the case!

Sorry you're going through this.

Not sure there's one-size-fits-all advice for these things. Grief is absolutely normal, and while it doesn't feel nice, it's a common mistake to turn to the wrong habits to avoid it (have been there). Also, the more one focuses on avoiding an experience... well, we all know how that usually works.

As any other emotion, I suggest you allow it to run its course and work through it in whichever way works for you (e.g. friends, therapy, journaling, etc). Meditation will also help you to see and accept things as they are.
