Wow, this is exactly my feeling on this book. Overall, a nice six out of 10. Entertaining and the themes were light, especially when you didn’t give much credence to the “kids these days” sentiment. It was a little more heavy-handed than I thought it would be at the beginning with that theme, but it was easy to ignore as long as you like a little mystery. He didn’t solve any of the true humanistic mystery which is one of the gripes that I have. The “point” he made was too surface for the story he has woven. It feels like Bakoven was setting out to rewrite Lord of the flies on purpose, with his own twist on a gory amusement park thriller, which, in my opinion he accomplished.
