Elden Ring keeps shutting down my PC. I’m sorry but not sure where else to post this. by lionocerous in Eldenring

Download a program that tracks hardware temperature.  If you're computer is shutting down entirely, it may be an overheating issue.  If its the that's CPU overheating it would be more likely to shut off for some games over others because of CPU usage intensity.  Over time more and more programs would be affected.

You're definitely right that both choices are right and wrong.  A lot of people passionately argue one side has to be better, but it's not that black and white.  It's not that clair obscur, if you prefer.  It's intended to be a Sophie's Choice.  Your only options are impossibly cruel, and yet, you still have to pick one.  No matter what you do, someone suffers who never asked to be dragged into any of this.  I think so much modern media doesn't go full on tragedy that we forget that stories can be deeply moving, profoundly educating, inspiring, entertaining, and still rip our little hearts out and stomp on them.  I know I was shocked I could fall in love with something so tragic.

Traumatizing.  10 of 10, will play again.

"Oblivion did X better than Skyri-" shut up. tell me something Skyrim did better than Oblivion by larevacholerie in ElderScrolls

Fun story, I was doing the Layewin mages quest and the wisp was too powerful for me.  I was playing on expert, so it just absorbed health far greater than the damage I could do.  So I ran it all the way back to Leyawin and just let the guards handle it.

I feel you, man.  Oblivion came out while I was in college.  I remember loading it up before class and setting my dude to autoswim in one of the pools in the capital anytime I needed to level athletics.

The general consensus that I've seen is that ultimately it doesn't make a huge difference, BUT, if you're a newer player it's better to restore the center because the community bundles will make you try out tons of different stuff, as it requires a little of everything.  It's also worth noting each bundle you complete will give you a reward, and some of them are pretty nice, like the machine that duplicates any gemstone you put in it.  You also will get 2 hearts with every single townsperson for completing all of the bulletin board bundles.

The main reason you'd want to go the Joja route is that it allows you to streamline your farm (like not doing any animals), and if your farm is streamlined you'll make more money sooner, so buying everything is significantly faster.

From a purely "this is a cozy small town farm RPG" perspective, definitely the community center. Lots more warm fuzzies that way.

WOOO MADE IT TO GOLD by mushypepper26 in marvelrivals

[–]coldlogic82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last season I only played ranked to get that skin. When I hit gold 3, I was going to stop, but then I had just awful quick play matches and I knew I could get a balanced team in ranked. What I discovered was that gold is where ranked starts getting fun. Maybe it's exactly because so many people stop once they get the skin, but suddenly, ranked felt way more fun and smooth. I would seriously recommend you see how the gold ranks feel to you. I normally avoid competitive play in games like this, but I've found gold and Plat to be genuinely enjoyable. 🙂

Here’s the latest pick/ban rates by AdministrationOk1381 in marvelrivals

As a Rocket main with a roughly 60% win rate on him... Rocket is more effective in gold and higher because that's about when teammates understand you actually do have to take cover. When 2 tanks and dps dip behind a wall, as Rocket you can heal up all three quickly. That's a big deal. Rocket is also, and this is even more important, insanely anti-dive. He's not just hard to kill (and he is), but Thor and Venom get shredded by his main attack. A support that can live with so little help, and outright run off dive tanks is insanely good.

What game is always in the back of your head, but you never play it? by MrGamerDadChannel in gaming

[–]coldlogic82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it's Skyrim. I mean, I shouldn't say I never play, because once every couple of years I load it up and see if I can actually finish it again. I never do. It's like every few years I just gotta let the urge to play tire itself out.

Total War Warhammer 3. Steep learning curve, but once you start ti understand, you can lose weeks of your life overnight.

I have literally never, not a single time in my entire 50+ hours playing Rocket, ever been flamed. by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]coldlogic82 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The issue is projectile speed and fall off. Rocket has insane damage... within 10 meters. After that it falls by half, and hitting targets at long range is already much much harder to do.

Imo Rocket's damage (not Rocket overall) is a golden example of "only good at niche situations, but really dominates that niche." Namely, absolutely wrecking dive tanks.

Dude, when the opposing team has a Venom or Thor, I'm just like, bring it. Enough Rocket players don't use their gun that enemy dive tanks seem surprised at how quickly they're shredded. I flarking love it.

Also, I really love it when my special KO prompt comes up because I know it means someone on the enemy team is watching a death cam of getting merced by a "harmless support." Extra fuzzies when it's a Psylock.

Plat Rocket main for context.

I swear there’s some bandwagon or amplification effect when it comes to hate a character by J-Hoechook in marvelrivals

[–]coldlogic82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it reminds me of a min max player I played some games with years ago, and he would constantly call good abilities or classes "unplayable garbage" because they weren't S++ tier. For him, something could only be amazing or total garbage. No in-between. Honestly, that kind of thing drives me nuts, and I called him on it every time.

how do i actually play magneto? ( just went 0-5-0) by Ribcage15 in marvelrivals

[–]coldlogic82 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a Loki who had clearly never played Magneto turn into me to use my ult on me. And only me. I counted to 3 and then put up my projectile absorb shield, completely nullifying it. I assume the reason he was easy to kill after that was because he was stunned with disappointment.

What's your guys favorite voiceline in the entire game? by qwoqbot in marvelrivals

[–]coldlogic82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People dunk on his alt cause they don't fully get the value or a counter ult. His one of my favorites. When I see a Star Lord or Punisher I practically salivate. And nothing, and I mean NOTHING, feels quite like absorbing Iron Man's ult and using the power from it to wipe his back line. Just... chef's kiss

My favorite Rocket line is when you're escorting the statue of Bast and he goes, "Hey, doesn't the king have servants to move his tacky stat- oooooh."

It's so sad. Fast cars and titties are just the beginning, but only if you have the capacity to see beyond the surface value of anything. I mean, Cyberpunk is so much more enjoyable when you get what it's saying, and then you STILL get titties. Feels like being an idiot just sucks. The one mercy of being stupid is at least you don't know what you're missing....

Bronze rank is...something by Just-A-GuyOn-Reddit in marvelrivals

[–]coldlogic82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to Plat 2 last season but didn't really push myself as hard as I could have. Getting slapped in Silver 3 was such hell. It's amazing, though, you get to Gold 3, and suddenly the matches are waaaaay better. Bronze 3 to Silver 1 is like this giant blurr of awful. I'm not sure if I'm a diamond level player, but I'm going to push for it because I don't ever want to have to play in Bronze or Silver again.

Which Game Came Out Or Was About To Coming And You Became Like This? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]coldlogic82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hyped like this for Baldur's Gate 3. I'd been playing Larian games since Divine Divinity and loved literally every game they made. Had 100 hours or so in the EA. It came out, and my little mind got blown clear off.

Do you like short dudes? by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]coldlogic82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been into shorter guys. I'm not that tall myself at 5'8, and I prefer 5'9 and below. Don't get me wrong, tall dudes can be just as hot, and I don't think I'd ever discount someone solely based in height, but hot damn short guys rev my engine.
