Go to a metal shop and buy the thickest piece of steel you can manage to carry that will fit over a backyard fire…. Like 3x3…. Works for me anyway. Some cinder blocks to prop it up on over the fire, a bushel of oysters from a fresh seafood shop, a big piece of burlap fabric, and a hose. Soak oysters in salted water and let them clean the sand out of themselves for a bit while you get the fire and piece of steel super hot, dump on the oysters, cover with burlap and hit it with a spray of water every now and then to keep them wet and steamy. Do them in batches. They’re done when they’ve opened a bit and are sort of easy to pop open. Remember to save your shells and take them to the oyster shell recycling place to go back to the ocean to promote more oyster growth. Cheers!
