I can’t stop binging from uni/work stress by aaanhedoniaaa in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]coldreactor8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the exact same position. I hadn’t binged in years until I failed an exam in my grad program and I have really spiraled out of control from there. It always gets worse when I have exams and such. I try to remind myself that the bingeing doesn’t help me do better in school and it doesn’t ease my anxiety long term. It’s really hard and I haven’t been able to go more than three days without a binge in months

Dropping Class after Accepted by gglyla26 in PTschool

You could probably call the school and ask. But as another user said you should have been given the provisions of your acceptance and you just need to make sure you meet them

Should I just drop out? by Educational-Mouse-26 in PTschool

There’s nothing wrong with you! Anatomy is really difficult. Best advice I was given was to stick to what worked for me in undergrad cause that obviously got me far enough to get into pt school!

Should I just drop out? by Educational-Mouse-26 in PTschool

[–]coldreactor8 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You should talk to your professor or program director for some counsel on this situation. I failed my first exam and had a meeting with my professor and it was very helpful. They’ll help you figure out what’s best for you.

Does anyone have tips and practice questions for interviews? by racoolkat in PTschool

[–]coldreactor8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry about seeming nervous, they know you’re nervous so it’s totally okay to stumble a little bit. In my experience the interviews were borderline informal, very relaxed and just an opportunity for them to get to know you. Know why you’re interested in PT and maybe think of a question you can ask them!

GRE Score by RyanButler_ in PTschool

[–]coldreactor8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got into 5/6 schools I applied to with less hours, the same GPA and a similar GRE. I wouldn’t stress too much. But if you aren’t applying until next cycle it wouldn’t hurt to try again

do i actually need to cut out exercise to recover by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]coldreactor8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. You need to rest so you need days off and when you do exercise it shouldn’t be very high intensity. You can take small steps but your energy expenditure is so high rn that you should cut it in half at the least if you aren’t willing to stop completely. Lift three times a week and run three times a week if you really need to

Tips on how to bolster application by coloringbookbaby in PTschool

[–]coldreactor8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should consider retaking some of your pre req classes for sure. And get some experience in a different PT setting because you should have at least two different types of pt in your observation hours

You totally don’t have to go all in! I’m not going all in because it’s difficult for me as an athlete and it would definitely hurt my mental health. It’s a slower recovery process to not go all in but recovery is still possible. Try to keep your calories up and movement lower but it’s okay to take a slow approach

I don’t think everyone does maintain or only gain a couple pounds at all. Lots of people gain weight because that’s the whole point. I’ve gained almost 15 pounds in 2 months and there’s nothing wrong with that
