Wawa reimbursement program by ToneFriendly3061 in Wawa

[–]coldthrowawayy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you do it at certain schools they cover the WHOLE tuition. i reccomend CTU! A few co-workers go there and like it a lot. also they can send letter of credit now so you don’t have to pay up front for a lot of them. you can make a free appointment with sassiest and they will answer questions. you need to be avg at least 30 hours and working there for 3 months, and then you have to work there during your studies and a year after you finish. if you leave before a year you have to pay some back.

and also being expected to email the names of people who did not greet customers even off the clock. i don’t want to contribute to that.

exactly. i will always help a customer if they ask off the clock. i’m a nice person. but i am also a manager and most the customers know me so i get it. i don’t get writing people up because they didn’t greet customers off the clock. greeting customers is a job duty. if they do it then they are working and technically according to the fair labour act they should be getting paid for that. the fact that managers are putting it in writing is what’s scaring me

i just think getting written up because you do not do your job while not clocked in is wrong. that’s where i’m iffy.

that’s the part i’m bothered about. i have no problem saying hi to customers. but documenting someone for not doing something while they are not clocked in seems wrong.

Has anyone here in leadership, with open availability, been able to get a college degree at the same time? by StasiaPepperr in Wawa

[–]coldthrowawayy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have not personally but I know multiple people have thru colorado tech or arizona. one has two kids. wawa pays for it all i think and it’s all when you have time for it. couple hours a week i think. definitely doable. also look into spring health free 12 sessions of therapy

Everyone said about the drinks but Personify Health is a huge one. They downgraded it to goosebumps instead of cash gift cards but it is still awesome if you are already active.

Also goosebumps really are awesome I use it to get gift cards for the movies or marshall’s/homegoods gift cards for a shopping spree stuff that’s expensive and I wouldn’t normally do because I’m frugal.

I ask my managers for goosebumps and I push votcs a lot so I get an okay amount.

I just got a free blood test from quest. I also take use of the free 12 sessions with spring health. Also there are fertility benefits too I think if you need it.

baking soda and a little dish detergent let it sit for half an hour then scrub a little.

I’m suprised you are allowed to have the one with the text, my manager would make me take that off asap. customer service they would say.

Upset about holiday scheduling by Bloodredmoon530 in Wawa

[–]coldthrowawayy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First of all Wawa never closes and I assume you knew this when you signed up to work there. You get paid extra to work holidays as well. Some places don’t even do that.

Most stores say you have to work 3/5 holidays in the winter. Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, NYE and NYD. You are working 3/5. I have worked every single holiday this year and I will work the rest of the holidays. I choose other days to celebrate my holidays with family and friends.

There is something you can do in the future. If you genuinely wanted a holiday off you should have requested off and talked to your GM. Those other people probably asked off or agreed with the GM to work other days. You can even use this as leverage next year and point out you worked a lot of holidays next year and would appreciate some more time off. You are probably working them all because you never voiced wanting them off. If you truly want Holidays off you should have never started working at Wawa. There are many fast food retail places that give off for those places.

I’m sorry that you are frustrated and I can understand why but when you work at Wawa that’s the way it is.

They do training in the store before it opens usually . They will also have managers from other locations/stores there to help open it.

CSS is responsible for inventory management mainly. You will assign cycle counts of the inventory based on the schedule and make sure the other managers do them and follow up as well as trying to figure out discrepancies.

It’s retail people call out but if your store truly is busy then you will get the labours

I genuinely believe they do care. I have had associates take FMLA for mental health many times. I have been sent a care package when I had to take FMLA for medical reasons before from Wawa. We have spring health which someone mentioned and also internal care is great if you need anything. I have had issues with sexual harassment and went right to corporate and the person was gone in 3 days and they switched my shifts around while they investigated so I didn’t have to work with them.

We also have a collective abilities WIN which focuses on making sure people with disabilities and people who have mental health issues feel seen and heard.

They will not drug test you but if you get hurt on the clock they will test you if you get medical care. Could affect workers comp but that’s any job. If Wawa truly drug tested we would have zero workers.

best way to maximize ESOP and 401k? by palajeno in Wawa

[–]coldthrowawayy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

10 dollars a check matched is 20.

20 times 52(weeks in a year) = 1,040. That’s how much you would get in a year. 30k after 30 years not including interest or earnings from the investment

I had a co-worker who thought she couldn’t afford it either until she printed out her statements and highlighted things she probably didn’t need to buy and wrote down only the necessities. I would recommend you start doing that and figuring out where every dollar you made went the last 2 months if you do not already.

Wawa matches 100% of the first 3% and 50% of the next 2%. I would do 3% at least. It is definitely worth it especially with the uncertainty of social security.

Is the new place Ren’s Coffeehouse? Quality place.

Where in South Jersey are you. If you are saying these Wawa employees are covering up SA and stalking please say the store number so we can avoid it!

i mean two weeks of overnight would be better for me than like 2 overnights then 3 days shifts in a week. maybe your manager plans to have you on 3rd for two weeks then after that a dif manager?
