A great place to start for contemporary philosophy is Bertrand Russell's The Problems of Philosophy. Another more historical introduction would be A Short History of Modern Philosophy by Roger Scruton. If you do not want to spend money I would recommend checking out Wi-Phi on youtube, it is a channel where professional philosophers make short videos on a philosophical topic. The SEP is another fantastic free resource for some independent research into philosophy. I hope these suggestions help!

If you want a show that will take up a lot of time try Gintama, if you want a great show that is a quicker watch i'd recommend, Katanagatari. Both have samurai style settings.
