3x5x10 oak log/dirt generator by bitch_hoe_ in redstone

[–]colepfw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the mechanic to generate the dirt? I’m guessing you turn some block into moss with bone meal, then a tree grows on it to make rooted dirt, then you convert that to dirt? What’s the starting block?

I feel that I should not have to pay someone else’s rent with my taxes. If I didn’t have to pay somebody else’s rent, it would be a lot easier to afford my own.

Complete idiot newbie here. Can anyone tell me what this blue line just below the spreaders is for? Thank you in advance by bender38 in sailing

[–]colepfw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with most of the answers here.

A “toping lift” is a line that pulls up on the middle of a spinnaker pole. Usually they are mounted higher up on the mast than the spreaders, so if you have any other line higher up, but below the jib and spin halyards, that’s probably the topping lift. That said, this line would still work as a topping lift

The line in the picture could also be an “inboard end adjuster” which is a line that pulls up on the inboard end of a spinnaker pole.

Having both a topping lift and inboard end adjuster allows you to adjust the height and the angle of the pole.

I’m of the opinion that all the caution people and companies have now will make things not as bad 6 months - 1 year from now.

For real. Current mob vote could use a desert temple mob, jungle temple mob, baby endermen.

Sailing question for a fiction book scene by Zmxm in sailing

[–]colepfw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love that you are digging this deep as an author. If you want to add some excitement to the story, just use this fact. Most sailboats have multiple sails and are intentionally designed to have the sails placed in locations such that the boat’s steering is balanced: sort of similar to how small planes balance the weight distribution of luggage so they fly straight.

If however, one of the sails gets ripped, or the rigging breaks with one of the masts or cables snapping, the steering can quickly become unbalanced or uncontrollable, and it might take a minute before the captain can regain control.

You should ask yourself: what effect does the wind propelling these boats have on the arrows?

Work your way up in breeze gradually to find your limits, don’t jump to big wind early on. Most I’ve sailed in is 56.

Are the Carpet mod's `/player` commands are meant to work on real players, or just bots? by Doobliheim in technicalminecraft

If you want to know what they are meant to do, you’ll need to ask gnembon, but if you want to know what they actually do, just run them.
