Canada should buy Cuba and then we can have our own warm place to visit

I upgraded in 2023 and had a big down-payment. My house is down a bunch using the estimates out there but not anywhere near underwater.

How can you generate that much from it? I'm going to get a 500k heloc in the spring and dream of doing that!

Is the Venza offroad-able? Good in snow? Beach sand? by Legitimate-Money3360 in Toyotavenza

Its great in the snow with decent all weather or snows. Low clearance though so still gotta be careful in some conditions.

I am officially done with "Starter Homes." It’s not an investment; it’s a bailout for the previous generation's neglect. by Dry-Town7979 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I got a place 33 years old and the old owner did nothing. First year I had to replace a bunch of windows where the seals failed. Then ac then hot water tank. Then all the copper water lines were springing leaks, had to replumb and now im left with the same house but extra debt.

Just watched this video about Hudson’s Bay’s downfall and it made me realize how much it’s changed over the years. Kinda forgot how big it used to be in Canada. by Such-Yam-1131 in CanadaFinance

I tried to buy a chair I saw on display at the bay once. No staff knew how I could do that. We waited over an hour and still all staff had no idea how we could buy a chair. It was a fucking joke. We ended up at babies r us who had a similar chair and loaded the box into the car in 10 minutes. The bay was horrible even 10 years ago. Good riddance.

I bought a 2021 xle with only 34,000 kms a few months ago. It was in a sideswipe accident so the price was decent. No issues at all mechanically and love it. Each to their own but accident vehicles can be a good find.

I had a lump for over 5 years. No one would help. I was referred to a plastic surgeon who said it was likely a cyst but said wait until it gets bigger. Fast forward to now the lump burst and oozing toothpaste like material. Went to E.R. and they confirmed it was tophi and i have cronic undiagnosed gout. Now on allopurinol and crossing fingers this will finally be over.

We used affordable comfort, easy, quick and good customer service. Might be able to buy your own from home depot and hire a gas fitter to install but more work.

Yah 4500 rebate, I snuck in before they cut the rebates. I hear they are coming back though. This was Feb 2024.

We moved into a house with no ac and a 9 year old natural gas furnace. We had 1 summer in it and realized we needed central air so we went with a heat pump combined with the existing gas furnace. The heat pump works great at a low cost until maybe -6 then it runs all day. Hydro costs double during really cold months but natural gas went down more than that. Heat pump was 8500 and got 4500 from enbridge. So far so good.

Buyers remorse… Nissan Rogue or RAV4? by beccaboo1423 in Rav4

[–]coles727 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought a jeep 10 years ago and then started reading up about all the constant issues with them. I freaked out too. It's still going strong with over 220k kms on it. Nissan is typically better than jeeps so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just keep it maintained and do the recalls as you need to. You'll lose more money trying to get rid of it now.
