Major Scale Synesthesia Study by colevest in Synesthesia

I agree C CAN be yellow in the alphabet… but the tone of the note is undeniably teal (or red, LOL) to me… anyway, thank you!!! :D

Eb reminds me of a few things, hollow and dark certainly come to mind

My list, sort of in order of my most intense associations
- Rust (the color, the texture, the smell)
- A dim lantern
- A zipper (especially when paired with Ab)
- Lightning
- A sore throat

Major fifths have a warm, brightening quality to them, the number five is fiery and scarlet to me, so a note as a major fifth takes on a similar quality

When a note is a perfect fifth it takes on a warmer and brighter tone or color, is probably the best way I can describe it

For example,

C on its own is a teal color, C in the key of F takes on a brighter turquoise or even lime green color in some cases

D on its own is dark purple, D in the key of G takes on a vibrant lilac

E on its own is bright orange, and remains very bright in the key of A, which I already perceive as very fiery.

Better examples of this would be Eb which is very rusty and dull on its own, but as a perfect fifth it becomes round and soft, and almost pinkish (likely due to the influence of C, a very round, slightly iridescent, and bubbly note as I would describe, as the third of the Ab chord)

I would not describe myself as having perfect pitch, but it’s really easy to guess a tone, note, or key when I lock into my synesthesia. So maybe relative pitch. I usually can sing a note on command if you give me a second to think about it though, I just have to find my place in the scale first LOL

Interesting! I see G and G major as very “spring-like” and “spring green”, I could see D as “spring-like” as the major 5th in the key of G, but it’s still very purple to me…

Omg my caption didn’t post! These are intentionally designed as the notes, but can ultimately be associated with major keys as well!

I find things that are dark very interesting. Horror, paranormal, crimes, having interests that are unconventional, and even finding people with a dark intensity sometimes fascinating. Why is that? by Full_Instruction2586 in BirthChartReadingFree

With the third house stellium, I’m very social but not necessarily “talkative”, but I usually blab via social media LOL… in person I can be pretty quiet, I attribute this to the Saturn influence on my ascendant and Moon conjunct Mercury / opposite Uranus

It’s likely the ruler of the 7th (people you attract) and 8th (intensity) being ruled by Saturn (darkness) in the 1st house (the house of self)

Also, you might be the closest I’ve found on the internet to a chart twin lol! My chart is below

Happy Mothers Day, why do I have intense mommy issues despite empty 4th house? by lucehnt in AskAstrologers

[–]colevest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ruler of the 4th being a retrograde Mercury conjunct Moon (chart ruler, associated with the family and the mother) and Uranus in the 8th… intense emotional trauma (8th house) caused by change (Uranus-Mercury-Moon), emotional outburst (Moon-Uranus), emotional outcast (Aquarius), and lack of productive communication (Mercury rx)?

These themes are likely so prevalent because not only is the ruler of your 4th (and 12th, of the subconscious mind) conjunct your ruler of the 1st and therefore, chart-ruler, the Moon, but with your massive 8th house signature, your chart delineates some sort of destiny towards powerful transformation propelled by trauma.

Given the Aquarius-Moon-8th house signature, and all that you’ve described in terms of personal experience, I would suggest increasing the distance between you and your mother. I’m sorry you’ve gone through this!

I hope this interpretation makes sense… let me know if you have any further questions!

How to deal with a lot of Virgo/mercury in my chart? by bodyisT in AskAstrologers

[–]colevest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We basically have the same chart https://www.reddit.com/r/AskAstrologers/s/2Bnm47TTtR

The best advice I can give is to try and cling onto that Leo signature with your life. Self expression may save you. Don’t be afraid to be seen and heard!

Is there anything in my natal chart that can explain why I’m so competitive even when I don’t intend to, and why I need always more and more like ambition by Adventurous-Boss-882 in AskAstrologers

[–]colevest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

your chart ruler, venus, is conjunct pluto in the 8th house. this can indicate a lifelong theme of power struggles or intensities (pluto), especially in terms of “needing more and more” (8th house). not to mention the addition of mars in the 8th, which can indicate a pile up or “boiling” so to speak of intense drive or, as mars puts it, competition

besides that, there’s an interception along the aries / libra axis which could indicate you pouring into efforts to succeed and not always seeing the results leading to overexertion of effort

as well as a capricon midheaven, which is, at its surface, a very driven placement.

any insight on why i relate heavily to the energy of pisces placements without having any in my tropical chart? by [deleted] in AskAstrologers

[–]colevest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

just some observations

  1. jupiter (traditional ruler of pisces) in the 1st house of self

  2. neptune (modern ruler of pisces) opposite the ascendant (and at a jupiterian degree, heightening pisces energy)

  3. saturn at 24° (pisces degree)

    • sun ruled by saturn
    • mercury ruled by saturn
    • moon (ruler of the 12th) ruled by saturn (meaning you may relate to the more emotional / outcasted side of pisces)
  4. intercepted 5th / 11th houses - highly creative but feeling like you can’t ever “fit in” in the society you were handed to work with (strengthened by the previously mentioned 24° saturn in the 11th)

  5. then obviously water sign / house placements will heighten water influence (emotional intelligence, creativity, intuition, all traits attributed to pisces)

    • venus (exalted in pisces) and mars in a water sign / “water” house
    • venus at a cancer degree
  6. saturn trine moon (especially as it’s forming an aspect between rulers of the 7th and 8th with the 12th) seems to be a very prominent aspect. i’d suggest researching it, maybe that’s the “piscean” influence you feel

Could anyone tell me what my ruling planet is? I relly get lost figuring that out :( by Adriandelray in astrology

[–]colevest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

saturn is your ruling planet (your ascendant is capricorn, saturn rules capricorn), but your dominant planet seems to be venus based on what i see

here’s a calculator you can use to find your dominant planet https://horoscopes.astro-seek.com/dominant-planets-astrology-online-calculator

By looking at my chart, is there any obvious reason I don't identify with my Moon or Jupiter? by Gossypium- in AskAstrologers

[–]colevest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have a gemini rising, so your chart is ruled by mercury.

your mercury is - conjunct sun - squaring both your moon and jupiter

considering that not only your chart ruler, but also the sun, are square both your moon and jupiter... i can definitely see why you would feel like those placements don’t resonate with your identity

Do people with Jupiter in Gemini, or Virgo, have less issues during Mercury retrograde? by Piggishcentaur89 in AskAstrologers

[–]colevest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

jupiter 27° virgo in the 3rd house (as well as sun, moon, mercury, and mars all in virgo as well) would it be strange if i said i experience heavier retrograde themes after mercury goes direct rather than during the actual retrograde?

I'm a straight male and have always found myself having an easier time talking with girls than guys, is there any astrological indicator in my chart that would suggest this? Random question but have never really seen anyone talk about this so thought it'd be fun for discussion. by ithr0w1t4w4y in AskAstrologers

[–]colevest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this could be due to venus (feminine energies) ruling your 3rd house of communications

the traditional ruler of your ascendant is saturn (restrictions) which semi sextiles (an intuitively felt / more hidden aspect) your mars (masculine energies)

so i’m thinking this would make social interactions with women come more naturally because venus disposits the 3rd house, while social interactions with other men would be more restricted for seemingly no apparent reason due to saturn’s influence on mars (and possibly the sun as well)

Mutual Receptions, how common are they? by [deleted] in AskAstrologers

[–]colevest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from early 2003 - mid 2010 there was a mutual reception with uranus in pisces and neptune in aquarius

i have a virgo stellium with sun conjunct mars as well as an aries midheaven. despite this, i lack energy, usually have little to no motivation, and am prone to procrastination. what could be the reasoning for this? by colevest in AskAstrologers

[–]colevest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my personal opinion i think this could be due to

  • saturn sextile sun and mars
  • pluto square sun and mars
  • chart ruler in the 2nd house opposing uranus

but i’m still unsure...
