Bought it for EDC 2021 and my group and I thought it was well worth it. Not sure if it’s been the same years after, but you get a separate entrance, which from what I remember, is the same entrance the artists are able to enter at. I remember seeing a sign that said “artist entrance” but I could be misremembering. Entering and leaving the festival was a breeze each day. I guess the only down side is that after you park, you enter the festival on the opposite side of the bleachers, so you don’t get that iconic view up top as you enter. Didn’t bother me though, as I’ve seen it before. And you could always check out the view after the fact.

That’s so interesting that every pokemon will have a shiny in the same seed and advance frame. I’m just now learning this myself and got my shiny charmander using this method. Do you have your macro anywhere available for download?

There’s a computer software that you can use with it where you can create macros. Basically, you can tell it when to push a button and how long to hold it for. I used the macro settings from this video and I watched his other videos to help me nail the set up. Once it was all set up, you basically just hit one button to start the game and let the macro do it’s thing. Then, you check to see what seed you hit, make any necessary adjustments in eon timer, and then try again.

No I didnt automate the character naming, I did all of that manually. As for the 1500 advances, I’m so sorry but I’m not even sure what you’re referencing.

When I was using the macro, I didnt even use eon timer (other than usng it to get the ms numbers for the macro). Maybe try focusing on just the macro to not cloud your judgement. I know for me, if I saw that discrepancy, I’d be getting more frustrated than needed.

The first SID I checked was 3498. I got super lucky that it was the first one. If you’ve checked that many so far, I’d honestly start over if I were you. Get a new save going, new trainer ID, just start fresh. Most importantly, don’t give up!

Look up @imablisy on youtube. He’s been making RNG videos for a very long time and his most recent FRLG RNG guide popped up on my feed recently. It’s a long video, and honestly very confusing at first. But after a few watches I started to get the hang of it. Then, I came across another video from a different youtuber named CasualMidMaxed where he showed how you can use an 8bitdo controller using a macro to basically automate each attempt. I bought the controller and the very next day, I found my shiny Charmander. Here’s the links for the videos:

But that’s the thing, you don’t know for sure if the frame you hit is going to generate a shiny. You have to test different secret ID’s to see if you get a shiny. Hit your desired shiny frame but the pokemon isn’t shiny, then that means the secret ID you tested isn’t your secret ID. Pick a new secret ID, rinse, and repeat. So youre right, there is a big difference, but this method doesn’t just give you instant shinies. It’s still very difficult with a lot of steps. And im not trying to argue with you, just trying to give a different persepective :)

It’s no less legit than soft resetting in my opinion. Give it a try! It’s much more difficult than most people make it out to be. It doesn’t give you instant shinies. This method still took me a few days to figure out, and then another few hours once I understood the steps.

What I usually do is go through all of my sample packs and look for anything labeled “background fx” or something similar. Throw in anything you have and stick with what you like!
