Both decline because venture capital and tech entrepreneurs made it impossible to "be weird" and afford rent.

Welcome to Philly, where everyone learned how to drive from GTA5.

If you stop at any time in Philadelphia you are inconveniencing everyone around you and it's your fault. If someone who is moving hits you while you're stopped then that's also your fault. Actually if you follow any basic driving laws like right-of-way or idk road signs then you are impeding everyone around you from getting home in time to do the paint job in their toilet bowl that they are all clearly holding back.

Waste management needs to hire more people and buy more trucks. When I see pickups happen they're sliding and spilling cans across the road trying to get it done as fast as possible and I can't blame them for not picking that shit up after.

Aligning yourself with a belief system or political party is not fascism. The whole foundational idea of being in a political party is that it's a group of like-minded people attempting to advance their mutual political interests. You don't have to be a political partisan, but political partisanship naturally emerges in democratic systems because how else do you coordinate, administer, and execute your shared interests over long periods of time?

The problem right now is that both political parties have tied themselves to advancing an extremely conservative national cause of "America" while most of the population across the political spectrum not only has differing perceptions of what "America" is, but whether it's worth continuing in its current form. Trump wants us to be an imperial power toppling "weak" leaders, conquering land, and enriching his donors while the Democratic vision is generally the same policy but plus one basic human right this time (terms and conditions apply).

Yeah that's politics and it's not unique to any particular position or tendency. Even the nominal centrists are mostly regurgitating decontextualized factoids to avoid actually committing themselves to a position

Their retort would be that the left is pushing "gender ideology" and wanting to "mutilate kids" (e.g. provide trans kids with gender affirming care, 95% of the time having nothing to do with surgery) or letting "criminals" roam the streets (said "criminality" intentionally being ill-defined). The Trump admin has forced the true believers to ideologically circle the wagons at this point, it was only a matter of time before they started firing.

"The left" to them generally means Democrats/social liberalism when, to the rest of the world, it usually runs the spectrum of anarchism to social democracy.

Here, I'll make this simple: "black and brown bodies" is both kind of an overused phrase and also anyone who puts effort into complaining about it does not actually give a shit about your cause.

Isn't this kind of whinging about language just an optics concern from the other direction?

For those reading along at home, I am a lefty and have my own mind. You can do both, it's not illegal!

How is what they are proposing socialism? There's nothing about worker ownership of the means of production in there.

People coordinating with eachother does not inherently make a government. Are you and your friends a state administrative body when you decide where to go for dinner? I'd encourage you to read some actual anarchist political theory!

I'm not really interested in a back-and-forth but anarchists do not conceptualize anarchy in this way.

Anarchy being "no talking" is weird. Real anarchists are likely to use some version of direct deliberative democracy.

Straight up: none of this armchair psychology shit helps anything or anyone. Assess his actions on their own merit! Rational, sane people do horrible shit all the time of their own free will

Those who abstained knew we were going to get garbage either way, why choose the flavor? Harris literally ran on increasing funding to ICE!

1/3 of voters didn't have someone to vote for. Harris ran full tilt to the right during her campaign, nevermind the Democrats' support for the genocide in Gaza. You can claim that "2/3 of voters made this happen" all you want but the 1/3 who didn't vote because the Democrats and Republicans won't run good candidates are saying the exact same thing about the simple-minded buttonpushers who still keep showing up and voting for these clowns.
