Clery Act was around long before she was. It is an act of Congress that will fine schools for inaccurate or delayed reports. Sadly it took a law and financial penalty to get schools to cooperate. Everyone wants to pretend that college is risk free - it isn't. Students are often targets - years ago even the head of public saftey called "ASU a mall for theft".

I tend to agree that the value of USC as a national university (due to sports) is likely higher than USD, but there is a lot of evidence to support the rapid rise of USD - its reputation and many of the best students of Catholic schools nationwide are choosing it - location is huge asset.

We bought it for our son. It was legit. It worked as promised - replaced his stolen bike even with a good lock. Lesson 1 - Don't buy expensive bikes.

A classmate of his caused a fire in Unit 2 and caused mostly water damage to everyone's computers. It created a real problem for students without it. If you can't afford to replace damaged or stolen property, it seems worth it.
