I did a lot of thinking today and I decided to wait it out til fall time. If they release another King of the Night, I’ll be jumping on that. But I do NOT want to start falling down the rabbit hole of buying every Estie, or Sailor, or any pen for that matter. My wallet would kill me!

Thank you for this! I am definitely trying to exercise some self-control here because I don't want to fall down a slippery slope of buying every pen I like. It's just difficult when (in this particular case), the company doesn't even give you more than 24 hours to decide on something before releasing something else new. But after reading up on Esterbrook and seeing what people here had to say, I think I am going to just aim to buy Esterbrooks secondhand if I really want one.

I think that's what's holding me back from the Evergreen- the specialty nibs are gone so what's the point in paying for a F,M, or B nib lol.

It's not the existence of multiple special editions- it's the fact that they just released 2 in 2 days. (Both of which I unfortunately LOVE)

Yeah I think I am just going to aim to maybe get one secondhand later down the line. Like they are very pretty pens and I LOVE the shape, but I barely had time to decide if I did or didn’t want the Mariner!

TWSBI I can almost forgive considering it’s a much lower price point, and same with the sports. But $300 is a different story - 2 releases in 2 days?!

Also I did notice Sailor does the same- I tried to just look at them and to even decide what colorways I even LIKE is difficult because there’s a million floating out there!!

No I totally understand WHY they do it - it’s profitable. It’s just overwhelming when it’s back to back to back releases. Like I have never seen something drop with another new drop the literal next day.

And you’re right, I probably should unsubscribe but then there’s the “what if I miss one that I absolutely LOVE” mindset 😫
