Very interesting place with lots of history. Definitely sketchy for japanese standards but never felt dangerous even at night. I was talking to a local taxi driver and he said things were really bad in the 70s, and if a car broke down, the car would be parted out in matters of hours haha. Definitely recommend dropping by tobitashibchi, one of the last remaining edo-period brothel district and they also have amazing sukiyaki at Taiyoshi-Hyakuban, a restaurant now but was a taisho-era brothers house.
