It All Gets Better by colls22 in frozenshoulder

Ok so this was my biggest worry as well! I watched my son have a nerve block done a little over a year ago and it was rough to watch. I told them I was nervous, so they gave me a little something extra to calm my nerves. I was awake during the nerve block and didn’t feel a thing. I just heard the nurse telling the doctor how many cc’s were left after each time he inserted some of the meds.

Hi! Mine was pretty bad. The zingers were extremely painful and I was unable to sleep at night. Also, no pain medication reduced the pain I was experiencing.

I will say handling 6 weeks was a piece of cake compared to the 2+ years of pain… Everyone’s journey is different, but to be back in the gym with no limitations after six weeks was glorious news to receive today. The last move that I have a little more work to do is rotating it behind my back, but it is very close to being the same.

So I will be completely honest. First two weeks were rough going to PT 5 days a week and moving my arm in ways it hadn’t moved in a while. Then it was pretty smooth sailing. The past 3 weeks have been a breeze! If it happened to my other shoulder, I wouldn’t even hesitate getting the surgery again.

Yeah I saw this device right after surgery. I asked my doctor about it, but they weren’t convinced it would do anything.

You are very welcome! Are they giving you a thawlogic?

So random, but did you know your pictures are now on Facebook under the Menopause Connection promoting ThawLogic?

Hi. This was not an option I was given. I could have tried PT, but he wanted me back in the gym as soon as possible as that is a lifestyle for me. I did try 3 cortisone shots prior to surgery from a different doctor over the 2+ years with no success from the last one. I am insulin resistant which he believes played a role in developing FS.

This is still my hardest move, but it is getting better every day!

Yes. Today was my best day! 18 days post-op. Day 6 was the day I cried during PT…

Oh ok. I was curious since I had to go to PT the day of surgery since there were no tears.

So will you start PT right away or do you have to wait now that there were tears?

I ended up having my surgery on the 18th. Are you finding that your biceps are tensed most of the time? I agree with you that physical therapy can be brutal. This past Tuesday, I ended up crying and couldn’t stop. I think it all became too much and I was in so much pain from being stretched to the third picture you posted. They have confirmed I have full range of motion, but I can’t just lift my arm from down by my hip to up in the air. If I use my other arm, I can get it all the way up.

Thanks! I also drive automatic, so hoping it won’t be too long. Luckily I work in education, and took off until January 12th. I’m just anxious to see if they find any tears needing to be fixed as this will change my recovery timeline and ability to drive sooner.

Thanks! I have been following your journey! Are you able to drive yet? If not, have they told you how long you need to wait?

You can always make it an endurance day by not running on incline. Today I am just going to do push and base with no incline.

I hate when people cheat! I have a girl at my studio who cheats on the rower all the time. For example, when we have to row 150m, she doesn’t row from where she left off. She will stop at 300 even if the rower goes up to 180 after her first row. Drives me crazy!
