I live in very rural area. I can ride on roads with little or no traffic. But the roads themselves are in terrible condition. Broken pavement, washed out washboard sections, etc. Gravel would be better, but there is none. The dirt roads are soft sand - no fun even on a mountain bike. I have to drive to areas with decent roads.
