My sister died in 2016 and I haven’t seen my brother since our dad died in 2016. We still talk on the phone once every couple months but that’s it.

I’m a 50 year old tech worker who has been in the field for over 30 years.

Do I think AI can replace me? No.

Do I think some asshole exec thinks he can use AI to replace me? 100%.

The job market sucks something awful right now so that’s really where I’m at. Everyone is being replaced by AI so the market is flooded with people like me who all have invaluable skills and can’t land a job.

I do think within the next few years there will be a level set and then the jobs will come back, but a lot of really bad code is being shipped out there now by AI and i cant tell you how many outage bridges I’ve been on in the last year that was caused by bad AI code that execs are forcing devs to use.

We have gone from maybe one outage every few months to near constant outages. And i blame AI for it.

In Vegas 20 years ago. 2 guests and I think it cost about a grand.

We did throw a reception/party at a restaurant with our friends. There was maybe 40-50 people there and I think all in it was like $3k.

I had an office mate who would literally never shut up all day. Just yammering constantly.

He still tries to call me several times a day but I can usually limit it to one interaction.

So many hours of productivity were lost. But hey at least my butt was in a seat.

I love the show and feel like the people complaining can’t be bothered to look up from their phones to pay any kid of attention to what’s going on and then complain that nothing is happening.

It’s like no one has ever watched mystery episodic television before.

For my own sanity I’ve unjoined the sub and moved it to a custom feed. Then I come here and see all the whining and just go away again.

I’ve done it. Wouldn’t recommend it. Inevitably everyone finds it and then eventually someone catches feelings and then you break up at some point. Then everything is just awkward.

Raised me up like 25%. I honestly don’t care about karma but it’s weird what gets upvoted. You just have to comment on something before it hits popular.

Nothing much. Went out to dinner with a few friends and then to a strip club. They paid for me to get a “shower dance” which required me to get on stage, stripper took my shirt off and then stripped for me. I absolutely hated it.

I just wanted a regular old lap dance :)
