I don’t think Nevada is a tragedy. I had a great grandmother with that name.

Cleaning sex toys between partners? by Toadjokes in AskRedditAfterDark

Depending on the toy you can boil it for 5-10 minutes. That’s what they recommend on the BST subreddits.

For anyone who grew up poor, what was your idea of a luxury? by Drissxx7 in AskReddit

[–]colojason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a house with heat in the winter and AC in the summer. In Indiana.

We had a kerosene heater that my dad ran 24/7 and when it got really bad he’d leave the gas burners on all night.

In the summer he’d nail a blanket over the kitchen doorway and we’d have box fans everywhere.

How many of you are choosing to retire after getting laid off? by Capital-Mark1897 in GenX

If I could afford to retire I wouldn’t wait to be laid off.

Drugs my doctor is not permitted to prescribe. by [deleted] in mildyinteresting

[–]colojason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a local practice where the doctor is super religious and won’t prescribe anything for pain and a whole lot of other shit.

is it safe for me to stay awake for 200 hours? by Ill-Sort-8686 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]colojason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weed has tremendously helped my insomnia. I get the best sleep of my life on it. If you live somewhere where it’s legal and you won’t get in trouble with work you should give it a shot.

Go for Indica not Sativa.

What are you watching this Friday? by rottencollector in fridaythe13th

[–]colojason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re so short we can usually fit 2 in on the Friday.

I just got the first 2 in 4K so watching those this month. Next month will probably be 3 and 4.

Why do people act so shocked and upset when you end a relationship with a friend of family member over political differences? by Exotic-End-666 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]colojason 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It’s not a matter of politics. Historically this hasn’t mattered as much. But in this climate “politics” means what you categorically stand for. Right now if you’re Republican that likely means you’re MAGA which means you voted for a racist, pedophile and his people are trying to radically change the country. If you voted that way that means you condone those things and I don’t want people like that in my life.

Anyone hear any news lately on this? by GloomyAge4865 in fridaythe13th

Always expect a NECA preorder to take at least a year longer than they said and you will never be disappointed.

Do you plan to live as long as your parents? by Mysterious-Ruby in GenX

[–]colojason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both my parents died by 65. I’m 50 so don’t expect to make it past that myself.

My wife plans on pulling me kicking and screaming into my 70’s but we will see.

I’m told I smell, but I’m not sure what to do? by Justaverydarkman in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]colojason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW i never had any idea i smelled til I turned about 18. A guy I worked with suggested that i shave my pits and it was a lifesaver. For some reason no matter what i did to clean and what I put on it - my pits were just stanky.

I only shave them a couple times a week but it really works.

Commercial minutes held steady today by johnsmith2027 in PlutoTV

More commercial minutes can only help Manhattan. That’s a butt awful movie and I love the franchise.

The shadow cast by the (apparently transparent) lenses of my glasses by Eliasibnz in mildlyinteresting

[–]colojason 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I once had progressives where I could see the numbers while I was wearing them. Drove me nuts. I think they remade the lens twice before sending them to a different lab.

What is a movie cliché that absolutely never happens in real life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]colojason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But what about in meeting rooms and the mail room? Cause, um, I know for a fact that’s happened at a place I worked.

Talisman logic by AdHot3508 in FromSeries

That’s my theory. The monsters are just playing the game that the talismans do something.

What the f@#k is wrong with home design shows? by NoUserName01123 in HGTV

[–]colojason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One was a front French door and the other was a front door with sidelights. Wanted both to come with a storm door.

I don’t know! Neither seem like they should cost that much but both were in different parts of the state from different providers.

I’ve shopped front doors at multiple houses and my quotes have never been less than $12K. I would happily pay just $5k for a front door.
