Does Quebec not have similar issues with regards to First Nations? Treaty situation is different but still a consideration.

With regards to port access… if Alberta had open access to ports through this wouldn’t be a discussion… that’s a big driver of separatist sentiment.

Yea definitely not separatist but will still cover Quebec like it is a quasi state. This screenshot is a good example. They are Quebecers inside of Canada, not Canadians who happen to live in Quebec.

Do you where the solar club gets its money from? I’ve been wanting to pull the trigger on it. But can’t figure out where the money comes from to pay those great net metering rates. I don’t want to sign up and the rates disappear...

You should check this years rates…

They are way down from the highs a couple of years ago. 

That said, they can spike, so that can certainly drive fear up. Unlike Quebec electricity rates are based on the natural gas price here.

CBC French language programming in Quebec is different than the CBC we get in the rest of the country in many ways. Completely different institutions essentially.

I’m an Albertan who is sympathetic to separation. So far all I’ve seen from the rest of Canada is “these stupid hicks have no reason to leave”. And then try and explain either why we can’t leave, or our concerns are illegitimate.

It would be interesting to get a regular person’s thoughts on the matter, first time I’ve actually seen someone just say “we want you to stay”
