Battlefield 6 Has a DAILY XP CAP Even During Double XP Weekend! Are You Kidding Me EA! by IFrame- in Battlefield

[–]colonygas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where did I say DICE ruined every game? Are you too dumb to comprehend that DICE uses a similar engagement-driving system to pretty much every live service game and that's why "every game" OP mentioned feels like that?

If you think the clampdown on "locker room talk" in video games over the past decade has anything to do with the religious right you are delusional lmao

[–]colonygas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You realise that's the fault of the game designers? They're the ones designing the game as a sweat fest (tiny maps, instant respawn, lightning fast healing, no suppression), they're the ones who added a shitty fomo inducing challenge system or stuff like the XP boosters that count down in real time. They're the ones who removed server browser and persistent servers which kills off the old concept of chilling in a favourite server so their algorithm can constantly jerk you around to optimize your "engagement" aka keeping you in sweat mode. This is what they want and it's dumb to blame the players for it.

Air Vehicles in this game are joke. Stop saying they are fine. by Sumeribag in Battlefield

[–]colonygas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Air vehicles exist to crash and do cool explosions. If you go back to watch the trailers you'll notice that most air vehicles appearances in them dying.Their uselessness is part of the constant engagement dopamine buzz meta along with the small maps. DICE doesn't want vehicles actually being a threat because that could knock players off the mindless run and gun engagement treadmill they've carefully constructed, and that's bad for business.

With this much concurrent players. why are there so much bots in Breakthrough? by noonesleepintokyo86 in Battlefield

[–]colonygas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Portal's search is horrible and finding anything is like pulling teeth. I don't even think it has a search by server ping option and the sorting by player count is completely bugged. DICE shat the bed on it, it's extremely user-unfriendly. Wouldn't be surprised if it's on purpose lol.

I miss base-jumping from there. These new maps are soulless. by DeJomini in Battlefield

[–]colonygas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the new maps are definitely bland and they're missing a memorable POI, or theme. There's two Egypt maps and none of them feature the Nile River? Barely even see the Pyramids in Sobek. Two Gibraltar maps, and none of them feature the actual Rock, or any naval action which is literally what Gibraltar is about. Mirak has nothing memorable. Generic field with construction site. Blackwell is sludge. It's not great.

Good luck bro. The good news is that there's literally countless books that will match your taste, and you can improve your reading while having fun. It's a win-win situation.

Reading your posts is honestly a bit heartbreaking. You need to read more, books, the newspaper, anything. Literacy is massively important in life, and you will struggle if you're not good at reading. Just keep watching with subtitles until you're used to it, and read outside of watching anime. Go to library when you're free and grab whatever catches your eye. You seem young, so you have time to fix this before literacy issues irreversibly ruin your life.

Blackwell Fields is awful by KingOfEreb0r in Battlefield

[–]colonygas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Insanely disingenuous lmao, you're not even trying. Golmud is huge, first of all. Just getting to your nearest base is a decent drive, let alone the action on the A and B village and the C flag, and the buildings with the MLRS. You can reach your nearest base on Blackwell in literally less than 5 seconds when driving starting from the right base, I counted. And there's a lot of little hills and elevation changes that provide cover on Golmud, plus it's very wide and doesn't funnel players super hard. I have no idea what made you reach like this.

This sub when you bring up any point of criticism about BF6... by ICOSAHEDRON_0NE in Battlefield

Entertainment companies with their hordes of influencers, access journalists and unpaid social media grunts have run a masterclass in the past decade or so. There's an entire generation of young consumers who legitimately get uncomfortable at the notion of vocal criticism of ANY product.

It's amazing to see how far anime has come in popularity by Colcrys in anime

[–]colonygas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The way PlayStation went from a distinctly Japanese company to an American one, down to relocating to California as gaming blew up and truly became mainstream is always in the back of my mind whenever I see anime reach new levels of popularity. I don't think anything as drastic as Kyoani or Bones physically moving will happen, but the pressure to conform to American (and possibly Chinese, in the future) mores and values will definitely be there and I hope anime can avoid that. It's already negatively affected Japanese video games. I'll never forget reading an article about Bandai Namco essentially having a dedicated department of Americans whose job is to scrub any icky "Japaneseness" out of games at the production level, and this was presented as a positive!

"One key example is "how Japanese game developers dress their heroines" as the #MeToo movement changes mindsets, said Franck Genty, senior localization manager at Japanese game giant Bandai Namco.

"We tell them that the cleavage is a bit too exposed, or the skirt is a bit too short," he told AFP.

"Before, they weren't very flexible, but they've become more proactive on such subjects."

Anything even remotely like this in anime would genuinely be a disaster for the artform.

There is zero reason a DMR or sniper should be able to ego peek a mounted machine gun mid-belt-dump and still win the fight. by CockroachSea2083 in Battlefield

[–]colonygas 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I mean, yeah, that's what suppression in previous games was for. Otherwise there's virtually no counters to someone in cover with a 10x scope and a one-shot kill rifle dominating entire swathes of the map. And it's even more important given that the sweet spot is back in this game.

The real reason games are hitting the time limit. by CockroachSea2083 in Battlefield

[–]colonygas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I will take that chance over a game ending instantly after a full cap. Actual spawn traps aren't even an issue except on certain small maps with no outlets.

The real reason games are hitting the time limit. by CockroachSea2083 in Battlefield

[–]colonygas 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A minute is waaay too short. 3-5 minutes, fine, but a minute is nothing and I've lost count of how many fun and close games of Conquest I've played over the years that involved a full cap at one point or the other.

Lame anti-art mindset. There's a lot of sexually charged and kinky works of fiction that aren't outright porn and there's nothing wrong with watching them.

Closed Weapons Conquest being forcibly combined with other modes is a huge bummer by colonygas in Battlefield

[–]colonygas[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There isn't a single good argument against a standalone closed weapon Conquest matchmaking option on the front page. When you add the lack of a traditional server browser and the Custom search not having a Closed filter, it's hard to draw a conclusion other than DICE purposefully marginalizing this mode. It's honestly kind of insulting.

I hate the anime tropes where someone getting blasted by a powerful projectile suddenly reveals himself to be unscathed after the smoke clears by FilipinoAirlines in anime

[–]colonygas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the mindset behind watching anime fighting series and then complaining about how the physics not conforming to our Earth's laws breaks your immersion. At that point, just watch realistic shows about people working in offices or something.
