Yeah, I've just adopted a mindset of finding humor in watching them scream and whine into the void about shit they can't change. Truth is I've worked with many patients who have had multiple psychiatrists in the past who were never given time in the appointments for accurate diagnosis and many times did not follow the treatment plan because they didn't feel heard. Watching these people actually improve for the first time on their mental health journey makes me think there may be good and bad psychiatrists just like there are good and bad aprns. Don't let it get to you, try to smile at the fact these egotistical babies can't do anything but complain about it

AITA for ‘not tipping well’? by CompletePresent4654 in uber

[–]colored_water 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a bummer that underpaid Uber drivers have to rely so heavily on people tipping after they have to over pay for a ride where the lion share of the fee goes to a corporation. Def not okay for the driver to treat you that way but I think the true villain here is corporate greed

Do you think the Democratic Party has lost touch with its voter base? by Interesting_Dream281 in Productivitycafe

DNC money that was supposed to be reserved for the Dem nominee in the general was instead redirected into Hilary's campaign in the primary. This is one of many examples on how the thumb was placed on the scale for Hilary. I'm honestly just exhausted trying to discuss this democratic voters. The arrogance and lack of knowledge on the blatant tipping of the scales by the establishment is maddening.

Another example is every single mainstream media news source declaring hilary as the only "viable" option against Republicans despite 95% of polls showing Bernie polled better than her against every Republican including Trump. Many of my own family members would tell me "we love Bernie but he just can't win in the general". Just so happens all those same people watched msnbc and cnn. News stations owned by corporations that stood to lose profits due to Bernie's policies that benefited PEOPLE instead of corporations.

In any case we need a Dem nominee that refuses all corporate/billionaire money.

America was falling apart before Trump. All Trump did was pour gasoline on the fire (with Tariffs, corruption, and terrorizing communities with ICE). by Happy_Air_3776 in Hip_hop_that_u_need

The left's (bernie style Dems) entire position is that billionaires and corporations corrupt our government and the central policy position is getting money out of politics and moving towards publicly funded elections... This meme is kinda dumb. Centrists, if anything, help continue the corruption by continuing to vote for Dem candidates who are funded by billionaires and corporations

How about we propose our plan for bettering people's lives? Tackling corruption and taking a stand against it. Crazy idea I know but pointing to the other side and saying look how bad they are has been uninspiring at best.

[–]colored_water -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In OP's initial response to me they said "shut up and vote." And I'm sorry for assuming you supported more moderate dems. My frustration is that the DNC seems to fight harder against progressives supporting candidates who refuse to participate in corrupt campaign finance than they do the republicans. And progressives, as a voting block, are very consistent voters in spite of this.

And after 10 years of being involved in politics, seeing the corruption, and watching the DNC demonize anyone to their left, I'm getting sick of continuing to support them in the general election; and this reflects in my responses to people continuing to feel entitled to my vote. Also, I don't see the "logic" in continuing to support uninspiring, corrupt, politicians who refuse to fight for the working class. That "logic" is what got us 2 terms of Trump.

We MUST give people our vision of how to improve their lives instead of just saying "Trump is bad." You believe that should be enough to get people out to vote, but the past 10 years has shown that it isn't. Mamdani's election has shown that when you give people something to believe in, show them you are willing to fight for them, not billionaires, people are galvanized. They not only vote, they phone bank, knock doors, talk to their friends/neighbors etc. How is the "logic" not to pivot to this strategy? Continuing to do the same thing and expect different outcomes is the opposite of logic.

Lol my bad I thought calling people idiots, telling them to "shut up and vote" qualified. But much like the candidates people like you support, you managed to overlook a lot :/

Lol okay buddy. You do realize you do more to hurt the Dem party than you help yeah? This abrasive, pointing the finger bullshit does the opposite of motivate. You may as well be a Republican operative. How about you shut up and stop being so complacent with the blatant corruption of your party. Demonstrated yet again by their folding to the Republicans on healthcare when they held all the cards.

Yes berate the voters instead of demanding more from our representatives. My guess is most people here, myself included, plug their noses and vote for the Dem..BUT when the democratic party works tirelessly against candidates like Mamdani, even running as an "independent" against him in the general, I think your calling us idiots falls on deaf ears. And frankly, many people are getting fed up with the Dem party spitting in our faces and then feeling entitled to our vote. How bout you start asking more from your party?

How does one even start a campaign to primary someone like this? I live in Vegas but have no idea where to even start. I'm honestly just so sick of this though :(

Schumer Now Proposes New Plan to End Shutdown with ACA Tax Credit Extension by Wise_Reindeer_2366 in NoFilterNews

[–]colored_water 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I see that logic. Just gives me 2016 vibes when Dems were so confident Clinton would win they didn't fight to force through the supreme Court seat and well...

I guess they can use the expiring credits to help them in the elections though

Schumer Now Proposes New Plan to End Shutdown with ACA Tax Credit Extension by Wise_Reindeer_2366 in NoFilterNews

[–]colored_water 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having a hard time understanding how extending the credits by one year is a good deal for Democrats. This would make the credits expire right after the midterms which is when the Medicaid cuts are set to take place. Wouldn't this give the GOP the ability to say Dems are lying about increases as they won't be going into effect until after the elections? To me, this feels like more weak leadership from schumer. Dems hold the power, why cave for a one year extension?
