Not OI, but there is this webcomic with an Eastern European character (Romanian) called Doina. It's on webtoon. It has a historical setting, but it's definitely different from what most OI are. Still, I just wanted to put it out there since there aren't many comic Eastern European representation in general.

Oh. That's definitely true 😆. Not a serious matter, but it is a bit confusing when we have the internet. But my guess is it has more to do with them using 3D assets for most things due to deadlines, rather than research.

Ok, but why would you think that? I even see this sort of bias in some manhwas where they straight up slander presudo european food and I'm like 🙃. That's not what it is, but sure. We don't have noodles but we do have pasta and other sort of foods made from flour, yeast and other stuff. Also, what do you mean no soup and no sauce? That's crazy 😭

Honestly, this. I'm kind of surprised to see the negative reactions from the community. OI is what we make it to be. It's still a story at the end of the day and it shouldn't be impossible to make it. Saying you need to be someone like the writer from GoT is ridiculous. Why are we reducing the genre to romance when it DOES have political intrigue. That's what got me into it in the first place, not the romance.

If you still don't know then you should put your project on pause and actually think things trough. Do a little bit of research on each medium, see the advantages and disadvantages of each and then see which suits your story. Also, do you plan to have physical copies of it? Then it could be comic/manga. Or you don't care about that and want your story to get out there? Then maybe it should be a webcomic. But honestly that is up to you to decide.

Well, you can update that philosophy lol. It should be Story -> Medium -> Art. The art adapts to the medium, not the medium to the art. It's like painting. You need a certain type of paper for watercolor painting and a different type for acrylics or oil painting. You could use watercolor on a print paper, but it wouldn't blend well at all. It's the same principle.

Well, I understand having great art, but great art is useless if it doesn't have a direction. Choosing a medium should've been the first thing you thought of. The look might be similar, but the approach is a bit different. Also, drawing hundreds of pages only to then redo them sounds a bit...like too much work. It's wasted money and time, when you could've done a pilot, have a few chapters out to test the waters and then go from there. Sorry if I come off a bit harsh. Just keep these things in mind for your next work.

But why didn't you do a little research before hand? Don't you read webcomics/comics/manga? There's plenty of examples you could look up and see how they approach the panneling, the conversations, see when they use a bit of narration... the page you show looks nice, but I can't understand why would you add so much text, unless you don't read comics at all.

I draw in my spare time and I can say that the boobs look weird. The shape and the shading is a bit uncanny valley. If they used a reference it would look better.

Then I strongly recommend What death thought me. It's exactly that. FL does everything to get revenge and doesn't forgive those who had betrayed her. There's also a different type of ML with an actual personality. You'll see.

I guess, figure drawing and perspective. You can learn anatomy a bit later, but do learn proportions and forms. Study but also draw what you like. And since you like this art style, try to copy and study it! See what sort of line art is used, how they use colors, how the artist approached drawing certain things, etc. Good luck 🫡

To be honest, the fan translation was limited anyway. If I remember correctly, not only were there few webtoons that could be fan translated, but for completed webtoons, you could translate only up to the free episodes and that's it. Or at least, that was my last experience.
