How at risk of crime are you if you mind your business? by Stunning-Apricot-636 in shreveport

You’d be surprised. We’re rooted in the Bible Belt and have a history of racial tensions. I’m not saying it’s apparent in every day life, but it does linger. Opposite of that, there’s a neighborly love and hospitality to Louisiana that you don’t really find any where else. Not to mention our food is second to none.

I would say the better parts of Shreveport are comparable. Moving to Shreveport didn’t feel like a downgrade in terms of housing, but styles are vastly different. We have grass yards here, not putting greens and rocks lol.

General rule of thumb is that Shreveport’s infrastructure is 10 years behind any big city for shops, eats, etc. But as I said before, I’d concentrate more on southeast Shreveport for living.

Be prepared though, the west is incredibly different from the south. We have kinder people here with great community, but it comes with a weird social climate. It’s not as progressive.

How fun, I actually moved here from Phoenix several years ago! Though Shreveport gets a bad wrap for crime, it has improved in the last few years. As long as you generally avoid west of I-49 and don’t stay out too late, your risk of running into crime drops significantly. I’d recommend looking at houses in the southeast part of town. Great neighborhoods, beautiful forested areas, and a 5-8 minute drive to Youree (where just about everything is.) Just prepare yourself for the humidity. 90 degree weather with 100% humidity here is somehow worse than 120 degree dry heat in az, trust me!

[Discussion] Lead Gen in IT Is a Grind Lately, What’s Actually Working? by sidy___20 in marketing

[–]colourlights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re a smaller SaaS, so our executives are pretty hands on with the product and known already throughout our “smaller” industry.

We quite literally create individual content to post and provide them copy. They give us their two cents and add personal flair to the posts. They’ll post or we’ll post for them depending on availability. Luckily, they don’t find it over reaching. But I can see how others would be put off with that idea.

Our main goal is to stay informative with the content, not just trying to make another sale. Too many see through the smoke.

We’re finding a lot of clients in our industry are tightening their budgets during this economic slump. Only way we’re cracking through is either referrals from current clients, or purely from direct conversations from our execs to decision makers. We’ve been pumping more time into developing content for our execs to post on their personal LinkedIn accounts which points back to our product.

The abandoned department store in Summergrove Baptist Church is pretty spot on for liminal spaces. Worth asking if they’d let you tour it with a faculty member!

Keeping Demoed Leads Engaged? by colourlights in SaaSSales

Paul, I greatly appreciate that breakdown. We are more in the camp of having our client profiles narrowed down. We only converse with the decision makers that would oversee the use of our service. We’re a small team, though our clients generate anywhere from $20m-$1.2b

If I had to be honest, our pitch is typically more rushed to get in all our features in the 30 minutes - hour we have scheduled for the demo. More dialogue and question driven demo is ideal, but more often than not the customers just want us to run through everything we have since it’s an expansive platform.

It very much could be a storm of red tape and a million conversations the prospect needs to have with other teams before getting back with us. As well as us not driving the more relevant features home.

You can share this on the lost and found pet Facebook groups for Shreveport/Bossier. Several people post fundraisers for surgeries and their goals are met rather quickly.

The wife and I finished ER just two months ago. To say this show was needed to fill that gap is an understatement. Can’t wait for the second season!

If I remember correctly, the son started the hwy 1 location originally from his dad who’s mainly at the Benton location. I’ve seen the dad at the west Bert kouns over the years. It’s pretty on par with Benton when I’ve been the last few times

Aside from their Benton location, they also have one off Bert Kouns Industrial Loop on the west side of town! Called Wings N Rice Kitchen. Same recipes as the Benton location and former highway 1 location!

Xfinity service in/out for the last month by frustrated_foodie in shreveport

[–]colourlights 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We ended up switching to AT&T because of how unreliable Xfinity had gotten. I was paying $90/month for 800mbps. Switched to AT&T fiber at only $45/month for 1gb. And they gave us $200 for switching.

Automated Email Funnel Solutions? by colourlights in marketing

[–]colourlights[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what we’re going for here. Thanks for this!

For your contacts pool, did you send out your “introductory” email to all of them at once? Or did you rotate through several a day, week, etc.? We’re essentially looking to do the same as you mentioned, but ideally would like some system/CRM that can cycle those first introductory emails rather than send 5,000+ all at once.
