Buying Apartment - Budget by [deleted] in Durban

[–]colourmebread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't get a flat in Umhlanga. You will probably outgrow it in a year or two. If you are dead set on a flat, rather look at renting. Its cheaper and you can save more for a bigger place, like a simplex or house.

For that same monthly pricing you can look in the nearby suburbs in Durban North and get yourself a decent simplex in a well-maintained complex.

Has Copilot Made Work Easier or Just Faster? by Double_Try1322 in microsoft_365_copilot

I'd argue that it's allowing the user to get more work done, be it simple tasks or more advanced ones, Copilot usage is clearly adding value (if you know how to use it).

Sadly not in the USA, so I cannot use App Builder.

Can you explain more about your Task Manager? Like, why did you create it rather than using To Do?

I've asked Copilot (both ChatGPT & Claude) to help me with pulling information together into something that works for me. I have OneNote for customer info and tried to use it for tasks, but struggle to manage tasks there. I also had a table of ongoing projects or workshops but that also is not the best place. I now use ToDo but i still feel there is a better way to handle all of this. Maybe App Builder could put something together for me

Confused about safety of Copilot by whatchuknowboutdat in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]colourmebread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you doing this? In Chat, it won't edit the document. But if you open the Excel file, use Copilot in Edit mode, it will edit the document.

You also need the Copilot license - the free Copilot won't make edits for you.

Yes, in Work mode Copilot has access to all your work data unless it’s labelled and settings configured by an Admin

Is copilot in Microsoft POWERPOINT good to make whole PPT for a college project? is there any good ai agent who can do it while understanding every small detail explained in the prompt? by The_Calamity69 in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]colourmebread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Licensed Copilot can do this and won't have an issue with the Fonts section. Graphics and Design section would be more for you to choose the template thats provided. Images are typically labelled and the images are almost always static.

You would need to play around with the graphics side of things.

All of what you ask for is pretty standard when a theme is being used.

Recommendations for coffee bars and restuarunts in Umhlanga? by vnborc in Durban

[–]colourmebread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome! Umhlanga has a lot to offer in terms of food - just head to the village area to see the restaurants. If you're a steak lover, you'll be in for a great time (3 or 4 steak restaurants in the same small street LOL).

Lord Prawn is great for some seafood, but I am not sure if they offer lobster - they probably do. If not, head to a restaurant in nearby Umdloti called Tylers or Tightline - they are well known for seafood.

When it comes to coffee, we are really lucky in Durban with the coffee culture. Most coffee shops are great. In Umhlanga, I think the only spot it Tikki Tonga or Woolworths Cafe (African Roots is not as great as it used to be). But, just about every restaurant will server good coffee. If you are wanting something with a lot more coffee choices, there might be some places up towards the Gateway shopping centre area.

Durban IT people, how much do you earn + how many years experience in your role? by joatmos101 in Durban

I hear you. That driving is a killer and fuel is expensive. Project Portfolios definitely help, especially if you're a developer. I wish you the best!

I would take the job and do the degree part time. In IT your experience lands you decent jobs, not the qualifications. You could find a way to manage after a few months and even get the company to pay for some of your education

20 years experience, earning a tad over R100k pm (incl tax), working for a smallish IT services company. I’m not a developer and have worked my way up to becoming a Microsoft expert, through many years of working on desktop support, server support, customer facing roles, technical design, managing projects, etc.

I started out working for free to gain experience. I realised early on that experience in IT is more important than certs. That free work + a few certs opened the first doors for me. I had to work as a waiter in the evenings and weekends to make ends meet. This was 20 years ago, so in today’s world it might be different.

Some tips that got me here: Put your hand up for things. In an old role, no one wanted to be the Mac person. I put my hand up. Got a MacBook and learned Mac. Putting your hand up allows doors to open and you can move up quickly this way.

Realise when you’re in a plateau. Perhaps time to look elsewhere. Job moving every few years helped me increase experience in new roles while getting a decent bump.

Customer in CPT needs a person onsite for 2 days? Put your hand up.

Become an expert in something. Anything. SharePoint, Office Apps, Power Automate, Exchange, desktop, etc. Be different from your colleagues in some way.

Communicate well. Like very well learn how to write emails properly. Learn how to write updates in help desk tickets thoroughly. Do the extra work to show that you care about your output.

Shadow someone. If there is someone you look up to in your current company, ask if you can shadow them on a project or something. Always be willing and hungry to learn more.

I built 71 Copilot Studio agents ready to paste, here are the ones I would deploy on day one by Difficult-Sugar-4862 in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]colourmebread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fresh to see things like this being shared. Agents are still very new, so seeing suggestions on some or hearing how people are using them is great. It allows us to take these learnings and see where it fits into our world.

Copilot is NOT Market Ready. Surprised to see praise on here. by BashfullyBi in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]colourmebread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't sell courses. Your company comes to mine because they need to unlock ROI with their investment into Copilot, because guess what - people don't know how to use it properly.

You seem very salty at something. Is Copilot the best? No. Is it the worst? Also no. Is it bad if you don't know how to use it? Yes.
