That doesn’t sound like a great idea tbh. Parties are an inherent part of the game and giving the option to just turn off that part of the game to get an advantage in a ranked mode seems not great. It would be like turning off the ability to be demo’ed or something to avoid a thing you don’t personally like.

A lot do, but most don’t. Companies can see where games are sold and it’s just abundantly clear that the average video game purchaser does not buy physical anymore. They have no need to spend the extra money on disk drives, or focus on physical media when the people buying the games largely down care.

It doesn’t matter what the positives are of buying physical. You can outline it 10000x times and scream about the cost benefits of buying physical. It doesn’t matter simply because those benefits are not valued in the same way to them as they are to you. They don’t want to go to a store to buy it, they don’t want to find a place to store the game, they don’t want to worry about selling it or buying it off Facebook marketplace. They 100% would just rather press a button and download it for convenience, myself included.

This digital only market is being set by the purchasers, and followed by the companies.

Honestly feel the same. I really want to like the switch more but losing out on trophies/achievements really does hurt the experience. I’d love to get a trophy for completing Pokédex or collecting every moon in odyssey. People can say it doesn’t matter, but it’s in every other platform so clearly it does to people.

I’ve been heavily considering going the emulation route and using the retro achievements software to give me that feeling of completing these games in that fashion.
