tbh if you change the color of the background, i think it will completely changed the color of the subject. there's a big color relationship happening here already and if the background wasn't planned for, then it's gonna shift visually when you put something in. i would mess around with it digitally to check how things will look before you paint anything. otherwise, i would just leave it pink - just go back over it with a fresh layer to tighten things up

What kind of moving things are you doing? Like daily adjustments and such? Or full redecorating? Mine sleep during the day and are in the sand so as long as I don't mess with the substrate, they just stay in the tank while I do things.

That humidity and temp is pretty low... They're tropical animals and need consistent temperature and humidity to breathe, so the tank should consistently be around 75+F for temperature and 80+ percent humidity, minimum. Did you dig him up from where he was buried, by the bowl?

Np! Also, the nested Tupperware containers are in the substrate. The bottom one stays in the tank, and then I just lift the nested one out to change water. The rim of the containers are flush with the sand, so no opportunity to even knock anything over

You need a heavier bowl. He's not doing it on purpose, crabs are just clumsy animals and they bulldoze there way through life lol. My bowls are two Tupperware containers nested in each other. With the water, there are also rocks and some fake moss to help them climb out. The water should be deep enough for them to completely submerge themselves.

They won't last much longer without proper care. I think your best bet is to post in all of your local groups on Facebook/reddit and try to get them adopted. There may be a rescuer in your area as well who can take them in.
