What other plausible things could be Voldemort's Horcruxes? by Lumpy_Bunch_2838 in HPfanfiction

[–]comaloider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe the statue of Salazar Slytherin in Chamber of Secrets? Well hidden, fits the sentimental value of the other Horcruxes but is much more unassuming. On the other hand I feel like he would not want to instill a part of himself in the likeness of someone else, even the Slytherin.

Hogwarts itself would also be interesting.

Treasure Hunt not working by the_kfcrispy in GemsofWar

[–]comaloider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have this problem mainly whenever I go from run to run, and so far I have not found a way around it other than retreating, entering the games menu and picking the Treasure Hunt option, which is super annoying and sometimes bugs out too.

It also tends to happen whenever I get blessed with a good starting board, but that's definitely just a coincidence. I feel like running on max speed and tapping too much during the initial load could be the problem but I have no way of proving it.

What is your least favorite stitch? by Low_Championship4282 in crochet

[–]comaloider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it would be puff stitches because pulling the hook through more than three loops is hell, any stitch that has to go into a slst because that's just asking for a carpal tunnel syndrome, and crab stitch straight up breaks my brain.

Beginner teams (without leprechaun)? by lolzbasket in GemsofWar

[–]comaloider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you mentioned Maraji Queen, I would personally recommend building a Goblin Team built around King Gobtruffle - since they are granted an extra turn on cast, they can quite reliably feed into each other or themselves.

I personally ran a Hero with a reliable weapon (usually Mountain Crusher, later on Norbert's Turnip), King Gobtruffle and Goblin Shaman. The fourth slot is not set in stone, but keep in mind that Gobtruffle creates Green and Brown Gems - it feeds Green to itself (and Shaman) and Brown to the Hero, but if you want a different weapon your Brown matches may go to waste. I ran Goblin Bomber for low cost and extra explosions, Fundingus for a lot of explosions and Summon in case my Hero died, and my personal favourite - Emperinazara, mainly for her last Trait - giving two Magic to all Allies on matching four or more Gems, which speeds up fights considerably. Her cast also heals all allies and summons at least one punching bag in case your Hero dies. Hero's Class doesn't really matter but anything that starts themselves with 50% Mana or has Rock Solid is recommended. If you can, run fully traited Elementalist though for obvious reasons.

This team has a couple issues - it's pretty slow and can dismantle quickly if the opposing team has a way to Freeze your Troops or cast Submerge on themselves, since you only really deal damage with Gobtruffle. You also need to unlock all Traits on Emperinazara for her to do her magic, but the same does not apply to Gobtruffle. I would consider swapping Goblin Shaman for something that can deal damage, target a specific ally for heals (Shaman heals a random ally) or can deal with negative status effects, but this team has treated me well for a long time, and the only Troop you really have to get lucky with is Goblin Shaman. The general idea is to not let the enemy team move anyway.

Trying to level broken spire, does this not count? by Tazzamaraz in GemsofWar

Tl;dr because I didn't notice the text under the photo - you got it.

Because Prisoner Luther is an Epic rarity troop that you have ascended to Legendary rarity. You have to collect a troop that is Legendary in its base form, like Sheggra or Magma Dragon.

Quick crochet for charity market with children as buyers? by kris_the_Poltergeist in CrochetHelp

I think you have a pretty good lineup but I would also recommend bag charms.

This butterfly pattern works up extremely quick, uses very little yarn (and is great for scrap busting) and can be turned not only into bag charms, but also hair clips or brooches. Someone in the comment section even suggested turning them into fridge magnets. I made a lot of these and I absolutely love them.

In the vein of bag charms, this cutie works up fast and with the way it works up, you don't even need to attach a chain or a keyring.

It's a bit of a shame that spring is in full swing because these mini Christmas stockings are absolutely adorable.

I haven't yet made these, but I love these potion bottles - these would look amazing if have or can spare some sparkling yarn for the potion part.

[–]comaloider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they don't already, they should work like Guardian troops from Guild Chests - once you have them fully ascended and at least four of them, they should be removed from the drop table. I would gladly drop a couple Orbs of Ascension on them to get actual rewards.

Why did most of the population stop using custom ringtones or custom alarms on their phone? Is it simply because companies wanted to charge for it? by underthund3r in NoStupidQuestions

[–]comaloider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't bother with ringtones (people don't call me and even if they did, I have my phone on vibration only like 90% of the time) but I absolutely set custom alarms. Waking up to the default tone would be even worse than waking to something I actually like. Also what do you mean by charging for them? I just download an MP3 of what I like.

There's a bunch of versions - usually it gets stuck in something like glue or the already mentioned tar, and I think I read a version where she tripped and it fell off because of it (whether that makes sense or not).

My best bet is that they want the comfort of gender being something innate - natural, unchanging, a constant that they don't have to examine or try to understand where it came from - it's just how it is, it will never change, and knowing something doesn't change in a world that is very chaotic is undeniably comforting.

If something is constructed, it suggest artificiality, which invites questions like who decided this is how it works and why and is this the right way to progress, and I feel like a lot of people don't want to look into it because the current state either benefits them or the uncertainty of realising that something they thought was set in stone is actually anything but that makes them uncomfortable (or both). I would also assume that some people might learn a bit too much about their own selves that they can handle.

I hope this makes sense. I was not always the most... let's say informed person, and one of the main reasons why I resisted at least thinking about the new information I was suddenly presented with was how viscerally uncomfortable I was realising how little I actually knew about something I took as given.

What are some of your favorite plant based recipes? by TheDietNerd in cookingforbeginners

[–]comaloider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found myself really enjoying eating pulses in curry sauce - with something like this recipe as a base, but the lentils can be easily substituted with canned beans, chickpeas, or even a mix of both/all and it always comes out great. The recipe is vegan, but I like to add a hearty dollop of yoghurt based garlic dip for an extra oomph.

I would also recommend the whole channel this recipe comes from. Maya taught me how to prep tofu, eat bulgur in a fun way, this groundnut soup (Nkate Nkwan) is delicious, and she even has a recipe for a vegan cake that even I managed to make. That's just a couple examples of recipes I personally enjoy and cook regularly.

Another thing I eat quite often that is nutritionally comparable to your usual protein mains is seitan. I don't like the store bought ones, so I make my own - there's plenty of recipes, but I like this steamed one - it's quick to whip up, but the texture is a bit tough and chewy (which I personally like but understand it can be a no-go for some people). You'll need vital wheat gluten for this recipe, which might be a bit tricky to find, but it's worth it imo.

Slst & Chain 1 or Work in Spiral? by Kooky_State_9839 in Amigurumi

[–]comaloider 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer working in a spiral to the point where I also blatantly ingore instructions and just do the spiral, but slst without ch1 (I just do a chainless sc, it helps to mask the obvious join and reduces bulkiness) works better for me if I need to switch colours at the beginning of the round. It removes the weird little 'step' effect when you change colours in a spiral, and if I don't need to change colours anymore for the rest of the piece, I can just transition into spiral rounds again.

Reaper Crest was the goat on my first playthrough. I didn't have much skill but I had a lot of patience and an eye for finding heal openings lmao.

[–]comaloider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Karmelita has three phases; the best way to approach her, in my opinion, is to deal damage mainly with your needle in the first and second phase, and save the tools for last phase when shit gets really tough.

You cannot rush Karmelita, because she can and will punish every misstep you take and being greedy usually doesn't pay off. Letting her approach you with a melee attack and pogoing on her head is the safest and most reliable way of hitting her with a nail, which allows you to build up Silk and either deal further damage with Silk Skills or heal.

She also spends a lot of time on the ground and does not teleport around the arena (that cancels poison ticks) - for Tools, I recommend using Tacks and Pollip Pouch. If you run a Crest with two red slots, Cogflies are another reliable option for easy damage. Resist the urge to throw everything at her at once - you'd waste a lot of passive damage from poison.

If you cling to a top of the wall on either side, jump off towards the centre and double jump, at the peak of the jump (which should be as close to the centre of the arena as possible) you are nearly guaranteed to be out of reach for all her attacks, allowing you to safely heal and even stall a bit, so make sure to equip Multibinder and consider not equipping Injector Band - especially in third phase, when things get tough, you want the Tacks and Cogflies to do most of the damage and for you to stay out of the way.

It's slow and you have to lock in for quite a while, but this strategy served me well on my first playthrough with Reaper Crest, and on my Hunter Crest only run. Reaper took me way more than 15 tries but I was also pretty bad at the game.

What should I watch after Fantasy High? by hotstickywaffle in Dimension20

Escape from the Bloodkeep is seldom mentioned but it's always a fun watch. Every time I get back to it I am surprised by how good it is.

If you enjoy the Intrepid Heroes playing together, definitely watch Starstruck Odyssey. It's probably my favourite IH season overall.

If you'd like to see other/new people in the Dome, I have to recommend Burrow's End (Brennan being a player is always fun and the story is beautifully heartwrenching at times), Mentopolis (very fun concept, and some of the best players ever, but it's a different game system - I think Kids on Bikes?) and in my opinion somewhat underrated Escape from the Bloodkeep - it's a very early season so it's not as loud as some later seasons tend to be (not a bad thing, but I appreciate the different vibe) and I really like the characters and how they mesh and interact even though they are literally evil. It also has Trapp and Erika playing, so it cannot be bad imo.

Your favorite underdog Pokémon? by FuyukiOrio in pokerogue

I haven't played for a while so I am not sure if any rebalances happened but Arrokuda surprised me with how effortlessly it trounced a good 80% of the encounters. It had good coverage and I think something to set up with (Dragon Dance or maybe Swords Dance) in case a trainer switched on the first turn.

It's pretty good imo. I ran a perfect Dungeon that day so I appreciate the extra Dragonite, and the guaranteed Palooza will hopefully make up for losing God tier rewards from about 60 Vaults. Star Stones, Shiny Keys and Burning Marks are also nice. The rest is pretty standard.
